Probably my favorite film score of all time! I used to put it on while driving, it's so damn good.

One of the all time greats. I probably have it top ten and maybe better than that. Some great individual tracks. I remember Tim Boetsch used to enter the cage to it.

Another way to approach things would be checking out the impressive musical score careers of several accomplished musicians. People will probably think of John Williams and Hans Zimmer first at this point...and deservedly so...but I would recommend some highly acclaimed but slightly less commonly known ones like the following... Anyway, it might be a way to catch some decent movies that might not otherwise get on your radar.

In the 2000s he became known as Christopher Nolan's go-to guy. creating the signature scores for The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk.

You know that low-end "BRAAAM" sound that shows up in trailers for Nolan movies? That's Hans Zimmer

But his resume has tons of other noteworthy credits like Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Rock.

Lately, he has become director Denis Villeneuve's go-to guy, composing the scores for Blade Runner 2049 and last year's Dune reboot.

Agreed on all of these points. I didn't know Zimmer scored Black Rain! but it makes sense and sounds great.

That sound was ahead of its time and has now come full circle to being fashionable again

Yeah I maybe have Black Rain and Young Guns 2 as the all time underrated film scores. At least off the top of my head. Both were Oscar worthy in my view.

His score for No time to die was pretty good. If you dont want to watch the movie (I know you aren't a big Craig bond guy) I'd still check out the music on YouTube

Between having the nickname “the Barbarian” then coming out to the Conan theme song, and then finally the “Barbarian Toss” I was instantly a fan. Definitely one of the most memorable UFC debuts I’ve ever seen.

Assassins is full of 90s cheesiness but Banderas' performance was worth the price of admission alone.

Cop Land was great too, hell of a cast. I know people say Sly was on the decline in the 90s, but honestly I enjoyed his output in that decade.

Assassins and The Specialist both had their virtues. Banderas was great in Assassins. Eric Roberts and James Woods were great in The Specialist. And it was a fun last hurrah for a legend like Rod Steiger. Both movies have some good scenes and moments.

Daylight was a perfectly serviceable disaster movie.

Cop Land might be one of the hidden gems of the 90s. And quietly one of the best casts of the decade. I think Frank Vincent and Cathy Moriarty and Noah Emmerich are something like 12th in screen time. Debbie Harry, Tony Sirico, Edie Falco, Method Man even further down. Kind of interesting to have the lead singer of Blondie and a dude from the Wu Tang Clan in there...both fit in just fine as actors.

Victory from around 1980 or so is another watchable one for the fifth week. And I figure Paradise Alley gets called action enough as well for all the running and wrestling.
