Mousasi's resume

Gegard has one of the best skill sets at MW, but he is too hot and cold to be considered one of the best IMO.

He looked like a world champion some fights and like a middling fighter others.
Nobody can stay motivated for 77 fights + he had 2 torn ACL's and arm injuries. Let's see how will Jones and Israel fight after 50 more fights

He has wins over:

Puhakka (8-0 record)
Oganov (9-2 record ; 7 fight win streak)
Klever (6-0 record ; win over Bahadurzada)
Bouchelaghem (wins over Semenov, Weir etc)
Mirenic (8-2 record ; 2 fight win streak)
Takimoto (wins over Bustamante, Galesic, Dongbar etc)
Lombard (he went on a 24 fight win streak right after he lost to Mousasi)
Cyborg (wins over Carmont, Materla, Annan)
Kang (ranked top 10 ; 29-9 record ; 24 wins, 3 loses and 1 draw in his last 28)
Dongbar (4 fight win streak ; wins over Manhoef, Galesic etc)
Manhoef (22-4 record, on 5 fight KO win streak)
Jacare (10-1 record ; 10 fight win streak)
Hunt (Hunt already had some quality wins against Cro Cop, Wand, Bobish, TK)
Babalu (ranked top 10 ; 35-8 record ; 5 fight win streak ; wins over Shogun, Chael, Pele, Ilyukhin..)
Sokoudjou (Soko already had some quality wins against Lil Nog, Arona, Nakamura, Sapp)
Goodridge (wins over Taktarov, Schrijber, V. Overeem, Bobish, Frye)
O'Brien (15-4 record, only loses to Mousasi, Jones, Cain and Arlovski)
Mizuno (3 fight win streak against Latifi, Manhoef and Rodriguez)
Izumi (4 fight win streak against Minowa, Zikic)
OSP (8 fight win streak ; right after the Mousasi loss he went on a 5 fight win streak in the UFC)
Kyle (19-8 record ; wins over Feijao, Pezao, Lopez, Sims, Irvin, TK, Humphrey)
Latifi (3 fight win streak ; win over Lopez)
Munoz (ranked #7 ;13-4 record; wins over Maia, Leben, Boetsch, CB, Pierce, Catone, Jensen)
Hendo (ranked #9 @ LHW ; he fought for the title after that and actually beat Bisping imo)
Philippou (ranked #12 ; 13-4 record ; wins over Aung La N Sang, Hall, Boetsch, Larkin, Rivera etc)
Leites (ranked #10 ; 25-5 record; should of been on 9 fight win streak - robbed against Bisping)
Santos (ranked #15 ; 4 fight win streak ; currently the best LHW in the UFC)
Vitor (ranked #5)
Hall (ranked #10)
Weidman (ranked #4)
Shlemenko (ranked top 15 ; 56-9 record ; 6 fight win streak)
Carvalho (ranked top 10 ; 15-1 record ; 15 fight win streak)
Rory (2 fight win streak ; ranked #5 @ WW ; Bellator WW champ when Moose beat him)
Lyoto (4 fight win streak)
Lima (3 fight win streak ; ranked #6 @ WW ; Bellator WW champ when Moose beat him)

Kyotaro (K-1 HW champ when they fought ;wins over Saki, Le Banner, Aerts, Manhoef ; top 10 WBO box)
Musashi (wins over Aerts, Sefo, Greco etc)

56 MMA fights (47-7-2), 8 Kickboxing fights (8-0), 13 Amateur Boxing fights (12-1)

  • Strikeforce LHW champ
  • Bellator two time MW champ
  • Dream LHW champ

  • 2008 Fighter of the Year (Bleacher Report)

Thats a complete combat sport athlete resume right there...

Pretty impressive ...

Shame him.and UFC couldn't get on the same.page i feel like Mousasi is a true sportsmen and i respect him for that

Doesnt Israel have 100 plus fights?

But not to shit on your post Gegard is as legit as they come when it comes to MMA experience and long record

Number 2 MW GOAT
Top 10 GOAT

He has some great wins for sure but tbh you threw in some garbage names that don't belong.

How is he overated??
I don't think he is. I have been reading threads for days about how Lima was going to win, and how Mousasi was too old, too slow, lost to Jacare and was never going to be a champion.

Mousasi is the man!

In Bellator.

True, but back then you didn't knew in what direction their career would be going. They were undefeated with some good wins. Same as Brett Rogers when Fedor fought him.

The dude beat Mark Hunt with ease! Think about that for a second... Moose is one of the best OG's still in the game. Fucking resume is drool worthy. He is a beast. UFC should be shamed for not keeping him around. Can't call yourself the #1 org if you don't have the Moose on your roster. Plain and simple.

Actually was arguing with someone about Israel and idk why I mentioned him but you get my point LOL. Seeing how most fighters can be on top for like 15 fights only (Weidman, Rockhold etc), Mousasi's longevity is amazing.

Still, there are more injuries in MMA, and Moose has much more MMA fights than him. Moose never got injured in boxing/kickboxing but he had like 3 major injuries in MMA

That’s a lot of work to prove he’s a B+ fighter

The guys saying he's second or third best mw ever, pm your dealers number.

Make the argument that he's below #3.

His resume is too stacked and he's been fighting pro for 17 years
