News Most watched MMA promotion of our times, Combate, might be closing permanently

The kind of thing that's illegal in boxing, but A-OK in mma
Yes … 100% the Ali Act … in boxing this would be completely illegal …. This is a feeder league to the UFC … to start graduating his guys … so I expect a ton of squash matches

Just like LFA and Ed Soares

There’s promotors in Latin American MMA do that. They’re promotors and manage fighters. Some promotors require fighters to sign with them in order for them to book them in fights in their promotions.
Samurai FC in Argentina … bringing their guys to The contender series

That sucks, I haven't seen a Combate card on TV since last December. I couldn't even find the recent ones on Univision when they were supposed to be on. Their Youtube channel has frequent uploads, but I have no idea which cards they are because it's all in Spanish with no fight dates listed, just random stuff, old Combate Americas stuff mixed in with newer stuff. They've been impossible to keep up with since their deal with Paramount ended, and even then it was still difficult to get info on upcoming cards until the last minute.

Yes, Dana would do well if creating a boxing promotion using UFC model in Mexico.

He can dream
No mere dream, UFC has lobbyist and lawyers working on it. Also, Trump is no fan of it. Doubt Ali Act survives his 4 year presidency.
