I could never get into the whiz. But agreed...the mirepoix of onion, carrots and Celery is a must in stews, roasts, sauces and soups

They're crucial in chicken piccata . Also, very good on a bagel with smoked salmon, onion, tomato and cream cheese.

That's without me thinking very hard.
