Most surprising domination?

I didn't expect oliveira to fuck up gaethje so badly and quick.

The dawg should be saying Charles v Islam, cuz the voting was about 75/25 in favor of Charles or something lopsided like that. I remember the fighter picks were also lopsided as fuck in favor of Charles.

It was reasonable to pick Charles to win based on his accomplishments, but people acted like Islam was some unranked scrub.

Then he got taken out in Round 2.
I don't think that's true. I remember Oliveira being accused of trying to duck Islam, and Islam was widely regarded as the "future champ" before he was even ranked.
Most people definitely wanted Oliveira to win but that's a different story.

Matt Hamil controlling the end of the fight on bottom position and forcing Jones to break the rules not to get knocked out from strikes from the bottom.

I feel people dont give him credit because of the DQ win but he was in control that whole fight.

Nunes and Cyborg. I figured Cyborg would get dropped and recover.

Charles and Islam is another one. I had Islam as the favorite but he didn't have much difficulty in that fight.

Maybe it's an issue with "Who do you think will win?" polls where people pick the person they like instead of the person they think will win because that poll was skewed like crazy. I'm sure it's evened out a bit now as people want back to change their picks lmao

Strickland vs Adesanya
Holloway vs Gatheje

That’s a good call.
We’d seen him stifled by caveman/carpenter; but I imagine that quite a few chalked that up to octagon jitters and the fact that it was a 3 round fight (although I’d have to go back and rewatch to determine how much of a factor the latter had been.)

To see him completely shut down and out worked on the feet like that was super surprising.

I think people figured Guida would get a takedown or two but that he’d get subbed rather easily. I was shocked how lifeless Pettis looked.

haha happens every time. Yeah a lot of Sherdoggers just pick with their emotions. Costa vs Adesanya was another classic example

ROBIN!

shit, good catch man, thanks. 🙏

(and apologies to Jack)
Yeah I dont recall Jack Black ever talking about MMA but I know Robin Black has had some dreadful takes. Don't know why he was ever considered a serious analyst. That seems to have faded.

True that. I remember his vid AFTER being so wrong, lol guy is unflappable at very least.

One thing that was weird, he was a colour commentator on Bareknuckle MMA (Masvidal's promotion) and I really enjoyed his enthusiasm there. @Poirierfan put me on to that event, it was really fun (tho I don't know if he enjoyed Black's commentary or not lol)

I seriously don't know how Black weasel's his way into these positions. I put Black in the same class as Schaub, special ed.

Dennis Hallman finished Matt Hughes twice!

2-0 baby!

Both times stopped him in 30 seconds or so too.

Absolutely had that man's number

The "grease gate" fight between GSP and Penn. I thought GSP would win but not that dominantly. Also, Silva/Franklin. Silva/Griffin did not really surprise me.
