Most Significant Strikes Absorbed per Minute

Topuria will lay the template for how to do this sport right. get in and get out quick. Arman, then Islam, then retirement.

I think in terms of total punishment, I would say Max and Tony are on the top of the list. They don't seem to understand how you truly win in this sport

lot of people here love a cte guy

I'm pretty sure you know the answer to that.🤣

What is Kattar's minus the Max fight? That was the most ridiculous thing ever allowed. 445 sig strikes. The Ortega one was bad enough at 290. That was stopped way too late. Max landed 155 MORE vs Kattar, that was literally a life altering beating.

I'm gonna say it again...FOUR HUNDRED FORTY FIVE sig strikes landed.

Imagine a different 5 round fight that you think had a ton of standup action and look up the stats. The winner likely had something like 150-175 landed.

I really thought Vettori would be right at the top, every fight he is a punching bag, he is so slow and flat footed and can't get out the way, he takes so many flush shots in every single fight. His chin is amazing, never ever been KO'd or finished with strikes, he has a world class chin, but yeah he can be a real punching bag in there.

I think its possibly because he has been in much less 5 round fights than guys like Holloway so they have more octagon time to take strikes, but I feel like if Vettori was constantly in 5 round fights like Holloway that he would be top, because he don't roll with punches or slip punches at all, and Holloway can do that.
Interesting that on that list, its dominated by guys at lighter weight classes. Vettori is the only 1 on the list who has ever fought at MW or higher. I think the lighter guys throw more punches per min

Thats a really good point and so true, it is dominated by lighter weight fighters, I didn't realize that before. Good point, they have a much higher output.

I want to try to get numbers on some of these guys who fought Max and minus his.strike count. Kattar absorbed 17.8 strikes per minute vs Max, but 5.66 in his last fight with Garcia, 4.93 vs Zalal, 2.6 vs Sterling, 4.28 vs Emmett, 5.12 vs Giga, 3.36 vs Iggy, 6.4 vs Zabit, 7.73 vs Moicano...so Max really threw the average off.
