NBA Most overrated NBA player of all-time?

I think there's a good reason they didn't. It sure as hell wasn't for a lack of help.

Fair. I do think that while they got help, other teams got more help. But yeah I get it, they should be good enough to drag a team over the line, kicking and screaming.

From my limited knowledge and knowledge of the NBA, Harden just didn't put in that extra work and Westbrook put more emphasis on his stats than wins until the wheels fell off. This rough assessment fair?

Nobody goes 9 seasons of being an MVP caliber player without putting in the extra work

Extra work compared to others might be a better phrase. What else went "wrong" for him?

Again, I'm way more a NHL guy than NBA.

Who are the others? He led the league in points and assists while being one of the highest pass first on ball players in the league. His biggest knock was defense despite being hyper efficient in a higher pace game and being a net positive player. The playoff woes are partially because of the Warriors being in the same era, and partially subpar team building. What happened to Harden happens to any 1 man team, where in the playoffs, over a series of games, the teams learn to adapt and slow or shut the player down. Other players have to step up, and they never did.

Easily Jordan.

Zero playoff series wins without pippen
Zero championships without the goat coach
NBA changed the rules so he could benefit
Expansion era was dog shit
Quit on his team and they still win over 50 games
Worst player on the 92 dream team
Quit on his team again when Pippen and Jackson left
Benefitted from stats being cooked
0-6 vs Bird in the playoffs

Probably a lot more that I’m leaving out.

Do you think Jordan would've won a championship if he played for another team that is inferior?

I don't know the NBA. But maybe the likes of Lebron, Steph, Giannis?

My understanding of a previous comment was that Harden did get some support, though probably not a complete super team type of support.

Nah, the hardest worker is probably LeBron, and then KD. Everyone else is behind them when it comes to studying/practicing. Apparently Kawhi Leonard's injuries got so bad because he was just as insane as they were.

At the end of the day, basketball is a team sport, and you need good teams and coaching to win a title. Its never on one player. The NBA for a while went through the whole "You need 2 superstars" then it was "You need 3 superstars" but the reality is now the playing level is so elevated you need a great team top to bottom. The closest Harden got to a title run was with the Nets, and Kyrie and him got injured. That whole team was just a mess, and it sucks, because when they played together they were nasty. All 18 games lmao

Simmons was a part of the trade for Harden. Which is hilarious, because Doc Rivers coached the 76ers the exact same way, just spamming PnR to Embiid and not spacing the game for James when teams adapted. James Harden was so pissed after the playoffs at Doc. It was quite comical.
