Most intimidating fighter past or present?

lolnoob

These quotes are from Mind Games: Psychological Warfare in MMA, an article in issue 56 of Fighters Only magazine.

The psychologist quoted is Joe Bell:

"The best when it comes to the staredown is Fedor Emelianenko. Watch him: he does not make eye contact and his entire expression is extremely relaxed - you would think he is about to sit down for dinner or something.

"But here is the crucial thing. When the referee tells them to head back to their corners, Fedor suddenly darts a short look directly at his opponent - or through his opponent, I should say.

"This kind of look is associated with antisocial behavioural disorders and psychopaths. They don't look at you, they look through you. It's emotionless, it goes deeper than skin level.

"You will get a lot of fighters who will catch that look and suddenly realise they don't want to be there.

This is absolutely silly. I had a good laugh reading that article. What a pseudo hack trying to get his name out there as a psychologist by commenting on mma fighters.

To the other fedor fans who were angered by my post, i stand by what i said. Fedor is the least intimidating fighter of all time. Tiny in his weightclass, nothing intimidating in his face. You need a big skull, heavy brow ridge above deep, small predator like eyes. Like Tyson.

And even if you consider aura, he still loses because only Sylvia was truly scared of him. At the same token Anderson had more opponents mentally beaten before the bell rang than anybody else yet nobody would consider him intimidating.

Fedor is not number 1 at everything. Dont be silly.

BM-people, forever the scariest guys at the LARP

lol very true.

Although, while laughable in a combat setting those guys from that scene struck me as the type that would love to tie you up in a back room somewhere and just go Hostel on you until you die a slow miserable death.

Antonio BigFoot Silva is pretty intimidating too. If I met that guy and he didn't speak any English I would be out of his way.

CroCop's stare in the first Wand fight was the most intimidating before a fight. He looked like Wand just harmed his family. Overall, to the lay person, Thiago Silva looks like the guy you'd least likely want to meet in a dark alley. Brock Lesnar slobbering all over the place in I think the Mir fight was the most intimidating immediately after a fight.

That's odd I thought differently. I thought Wand was the one that looked intimidating..

Nothing really compares to Wand, this guy was basically Tyson staredown on steroids in Pride. Cro Cop was the only guy to challenge him in staredown and won amazingly!

That old saying: Wanderlei looks like he wants to kill someone; Cro Cop looks like he already has.
