More complete champion, Israel or Islam?

Who do you think is more opposing to fight against?

Israel has nukes but there's way more Islam and it has Israel surrounded... so it's hard to say

Only one of Islam's defense was against an actual lightweight... the other two were against Volk where he went life and death the first time and KO'd a Volk getting off his couch on a week's notice after eating wagyu steaks and beers.

That featherweight was the pound-for-pound number one fighter in the world and did much better than the number one ranked lightweight at the time, Oliveira. Volkanovski not being a ranked lightweight is irrelevant, considering he's still a ridiculously good fighter at lightweight. It's insanely dumb to discredit that win.

This thread was a brilliant way to prove that no matter what the question is people will regurgitate what the # of title defenses for absolutely no reason.

TS asks who is more well-rounded / which no one on Earth could legitimately even attempt to argue... but people still respond citing the utterly unrelated stat of # of title defenses as if that determined the answer lol.

Someone could make a thread asking who has a lighter complexion between the two and somehow there'd be Sherdoggers posting "well Israel had more title defenses so..."

This argument isn't great, as if Volk wouldn't beat most of the lightweights in the Top 10. Do people think that an actual LW contender like Gaethje would be a better win than Volk? Especially after he got dogwalked by Holloway who Volk beat three times?

The first Volk fight is a great win, the second not so much. But I give the first fight as much weight as the Poirier win if not more.

For as dominant as Izzy was against some fighters, he clearly has holes in his game. Islam does not.

Izzy himself said and I do think it's cope for his boring championship style, that if people don't provoke him he doesn't go for their heads. So in this case it does seem true that if you don't poke the bear he will only poke you enough to win on the cards. He isn't the only one (Leon).

Na, Islam is clearly far scarier than Izzy.

There is no obvious path to beating Islam.

There are many to beating Izzy; Strickland, Poatan, Polish Power all won in different ways.

Izzy has by far the better title run, resume, however you wish to compare careers.

Islam is a very well rounded fighter. Izzy has no offensive grappling and defensive grappling that can be exposed. Izzy will dominate the vast majority at his weight through superior height, reach, timing and striking. He is so far ahead of most here that it negates their strengths that could hurt him or shields his weaknesses. But he does have some pretty apparent flaws that several fighters have exposed.

Nobody has beaten this fully matured version of Islam and no one really looks capable.
