Multiplat Monster Hunter World

Out of curiosity, what was everyone's average - high hit damage in the beginning against the Jagras? And what weapon did you start with?
 
You can run the walls with the hammer charge attack. The range sucks ass but damn this thing is fun.
 
When you go on your first expedition and see a T-rex jumping across hundred + foot tall pillars :eek:

Not for me but I think sticking points tend to have something to do with weapon choice and play style though. Leg wasn't too bad as a charge blade user because you basically never use stamina with it. I imagine if you are a dual blade or something it would be horrible.
 
I like the Katana but holy fuck is it hard to master.. but damn when you unleash a long uninterrupted combo with it at the right time and end up doing heavy damage fuck does it feel good.

I like how this game gives you tons of weapons at the start but you adapt to the play style you like and upgrade what you like. It doesn't really force you to use anything, but certain weapons are better on certain things than others. Not a bunch of hand holding bullshit where the game tells you everything to do, feels kind of old school in that respect.

I fucked Leg up, only feinted once. Used like 5 flash bombs on it though and beat the shit out of its head. Took almost 30 minutes and I spent 18 minutes killing one of the camera raptors so I nearly ran out of time.

Nice job it was a tougher mid boss in my opinion.
 
Took down the Rathalos, and absolutly wrecked him. From previous games and what people have been saying I knew he would be airborne a lot so came in loaded to the gills with Flashpods and Flashbugs. He spent most of the time on his side as a dismantled him with my Greatsword. More than a few times he would get up at the tail of of a charge combo chain and the last hit would knock him right back down for another combo chain.

I think I'm another Elder Dragon event away from High Rank and new armor!
 
Got fucked on by Diablos. Wasn’t even close. Is he too hard for rank 9?
 
I finally got time off of work coming up went to buy the game last Night and it’s sold out everywhere on PS4. Haha
 
Made it to High Rank and drooling over the new armor available. The King Beetle armor has a few nice pieces to start with that will give me Evasion+3 and Quick Sheath+3 and still leave me 2 more armor pieces to mix and match with. I've only opened up the Pukei-Pukei High Rank set, so want to unlock a few more before I really commit. It's nice to see weapons showing up that have Blue sharpness too.

Diablos is a real son of a bitch with how easily he can stun you, but for his size he has a surprisingly low HP pool. You just have to be patient and pick your shots, because if you get greedy he will fuck up your world. Greatsword actually works pretty great for this fight since his armor is weak to it's strikes and you don't get the bounce back. It's perfect for the hit and run approach you need to take and you can easily get a Lv. 1 charge off, roll, sheath, and beat feet out of his hit box.

Also, if you use a Screamerpod as he tries to burrow he hates loud sounds, so he'll pop out of the ground dazed a few seconds you can get some free shots in.
 
Any benefit to trying to take down the higher level guys before they pop up in a quest? Ran into a Pukei-Pukei and was slapping him around until he ran off, haven't started his hunt quest though.
 
Alright that penis monster that inflicts bleed is the new cheapest piece of shit in this game

Big time congrats. If you aren't prepared for rathalos he often punishes a lot of people... he's brutal in the air and they added a new move which was infuriating me as a melee this go around. I think you are right at high rank entry now!
 
Been doing work with the light blowgun and took down the Anjanath with it. It's a pretty dope weapon and I like setting up mines on the floor with it. I used the dual blades and the katana for a bit, but I want to try out the great sword next.
 
How do I beat the Odoran or whatever the fuck. The stupid fucking bleeding mechanic is the most bullshit fucking thing this side of Shrine of Amana. Fuck this thing.
