Multiplat Monster Hunter World

Are the Wyverns/Dragons/Wyrms/flying enemies all killable (outside of expeditions, of course) without knocking them out of the air though? For instance can I kill them like I did the Paloumo or whatever it was called.

Everything comes down eventually. It's just a matter of enduring their aerial onslaught if you aren't a gunner. The ecology system is really strong in this game though if you do the quests to upgrade it you can produce tons and tons of items to help yourself with. It's much stronger than ever before.

Just unlocked high ranked, my head is spinning at the new options and upgrades, i love this game.

Gonna hunt a few things to see what my next armour is gonna be, still using low rank rathian armour.

I think I'm getting close to this, can't wait. Took out the Diablos before work this morning and will go after Rathalos on my next session, but probably won't be until the weekend. I'm sure there will be another Elder Dragon event mixed in there as well.

In previous games, there was a HUGE gap in armor rating making the switch from Low Rank to High Rank. Even the standard Leather Armor was an upgrade from stuff you could get from higher end Low Rank quests.

Wondering if I should stop upgrading anything at this point. I haven't unlocked high rank but I'm sure I'm close.

So are all the large monsters Wyverns just classified as brute, fanged, flying, and piscine and how do you capture them?

I haven't captured in this game yet, but in previous versions once you got their health down low enough you lay down a trap, and once they are ensnared you hit them with 3 sleep bombs. If they run off limping to doze in their lair, it's usually a good indicator that they're ready to be captured, but you can capture them before that happens. It's tough to get a exact moment on when they can be captured due to the lack of life bar, but when they limp and run is probably the best indicator.

After reading up online, i've learned that i've been going for the wrong hammer build. Hammers builds are better with raw damage rather than inflicting status effects because they hit slower which makes sense now that i think about it. Oh well the poison upgrades are scrapped, back to the drawing board.

Got an anjanath Greatsword and bone gunlance cannon thing, Greatsword takes more skill than I have and the gun lance seems like garbage

Starting to wonder if the poison my cat inflicts is negligible and he’d be better suited with a more rare melee weappn

that greatsword is good to use I've been using for a bit just have to time your swings right and the blocking with it helps alot with charging attacks from monsters. Just there is no way to stop certain combos once they've started so it leaves you open or you miss completely.

So is this game the latest fix for Bloodborne players? Is that the pool we're swimming in?

I got cucked by the puffer thing, Greatsword was too slow. Switch axe made short work.

Anyone else annoyed by how long the stun lasts in this game? The hedgehog was able to stun me long enough to turn his roll attack into an instakill combo, and his reset was slow as fuck

The key to the Greatsword is rolling after every attack. It canceles the recovery animation and the window to roll is huge. The window opens as soon as the attack lands or any time your character is trying to heft up the huge sword, you should never wait for that animation to finish. Your pattern should be Attack --> Dodge --> Sheath --> Position --> Attack.

Even though it's hefty and you can really feel the weight of the weapon, I don't feel slow because I have it sheathed like 90% of the fight. There are a couple of skill too that really make the weapon shine like Quick Sheath and Crit Draw. Quick Sheath speaks for itself, lowers the window where your mobility is hindered, and Crit Draw increases the ability to land Critical Attacks when your weapon is sheathed. A Critical Attack added onto a Lv. 3 Charage Attack can be pretty devastating.
