This was a lose-lose for Islam, and win-win for Moicano, I don't get the praise he get for accepting the fight. It is the Rocky moment most fighters want.
Islam showed there are levels to this, and he should get the most praise for taking the fight because even if Moicano didn't belong in the cage with him, we know that ANYTHING can happen in MMA.

Even if I say win-win for Moicano he got dominated, so it did show that he should go straight back to where he was, he could fight Paddy or Beneil next. He is a character though I get that, so maybe Chandler.

i think he's wrong. or his perspective is wrong. you might not have the talent to be the best ever, to defend the belt a record amount of times, or even win more times than you lose against them, but that doesn't mean you can't be better than him for 1 sec of 1 fight. that's what upsets are about. look at JDS. is he a better fighter than Cain? no. but did he knock Cain the fuck out for the title? yes. is Matt Serra more skilled fighter than GSP? no. but was he better than GSP for a few seconds for 1 day? yes. there is countless matches where the "better more skilled" fighter did not win.

skill isn't the only way to win. i said this a million times, but no matter how good a fighter is, they're still human and humans can be tricked, confused, manipulated, gassed etc., THAT is where the weakness in EVERY fighter is.

people need to stop thinking you're either trash or you're the best. the world, reality is not like this. you don't need to be the best ever to BEAT the best ever, you only need to trick them once and that mistake can prove to be the turning point.

Even Rogan felt bad and let him run off early because you can tell he was crushed. It's sad he's probably right about not getting another title shot again.
