I understand that these fools can't even seem to get easy round by round judging right and that is unacceptable but only being able to judge rounds on a pass fail model is embarrassing. To not understand that both the first and the second were 10-8 rounds is pathetic. I actually don't agree with the current judging system but if we are going to be subjected to it, these judges really need to watch a ton of rounds and be calibrated on how to score them. I would even go as far as to say a round in which one guy is dominating the whole time, isn't once hurt and could have had the finish should be a 10-7 round.

Agree, where do they find these fucken retards?

I'm not even exaggerating when I say that a lot of posters here would do a better job then most of the judges out there.

To me a 10-8 should be automatic in any round which one fighter clearly won... in the Hector/Magny fight you could even make a case for both rounds being 10-7. A 10-9 should be given if one guy was a bit better, and a very close round that's tough to judge should be a 10-10, yet it seems like every damn round is 10-9 no matter how one sided or how close.

So many times you'll see one guy clearly win a round and they give him a 10-9. Then the next two rounds are a tossup, but they might give a 10-9 to the other guy and then you get people screaming robbery. More 10-8's and 10-10's would improve the system significantly imo.

no no no, it's the 10 point must system that is broken, the judges are fine.

Little bit of both. Fix the 10 point must system, an the criteria which the judges decide the fight and we might be onto something.

Other way around. 10 point must system is actually perfect. Just need judges to implement it correctly.

No, the 10-point must has its flaws also - even when used perfectly it can still have flawed, inconsistent problems in certain scenarios and worst of all, overly impacts the way fighters' fight (trying to 'steal rounds', point-fighting, control position+running the clock, staying "busy", wall/stall, late takedowns out of the general fighting context, etc. are all results of the Unified System/criteria)

Truly, MMA should be 'judged' (i.e. not 'scored' on individual arbitrary set milestone points) using actual educated judges (part of the first problem) using an OVERALL method, looking at the fight in an entirety using a criteria that aligns to the spirit of fighting (again an issue with the Unified System).

Currently the quality/consistency of judges are a significant problem, but even with perfect judges the system has underlying flaws as round by round for a THREE round fight has many issues.

Look at the One Championship system for a much better and more reliable method of rendering decisions for mma

The judges are terrible and I think you're being facetious here but I do not like the 10 point must system. I really wish we had a 10 minute first round with a longer break between it and a five minute round followed by the judges calling a winner or loser, closer to the pride system. Even if the 10 point must is here to stay, the judges have to use it better and (after watching hours of college wrestling this week) our refs have to start calling stalling quicker, use a 4 count, one warning with resetting in a neutral position then a taken every time after that. No more stalling and way more 10-8 rounds along with better training of the judges, these things are a must.

The 10 point must system is absolute shit for MMA. Judging needs better criteria and to be refined more, but they need a new system more than anything.

You can't polish a turd.

Completely useless judging. The system may be bad, but this is just awful to the degree of gross imcompetance

I don't give a fuck what system you use. If you got 3 blind mice judging. We will continue to get shit decisions.
