MMA has pushed me away recently

I have to agree, I'm not sure if its UFC fatigue or what but I’m not as excited as I used to be.
I think the same as well, years ago I never missed a card . I will always try to watch the big fights but even the free cards become back ground noise on the weekend .

I sort of agree....

well, other than possibly the best main card ever just 2 months ago: Weidman leg snap, Rose head kick, Shevchenko domination, Usman death blow

But yeah other than that a lot of snooze cards.

We all wanted more UFC cards in the past, but now you can make the argument there are just too many to follow. Besides the upcoming McGregor vs Porier card, the following handful of fight night headliners are very underwhelming:

Islam vs Moisas
Sandhagen vs Dillashaw
Hall vs Strickland
Cannonier vs Gastelum

These fights wouldn’t even be co-mains on PPV cards besides maybe Dillashaw vs Sandhagen, so it just goes to show how oversaturated the roster is.

Last few months have kind of been trash...

Frauds becoming champions,
Broke fighters catching cases over money,
Canceled fights,
Boring fights,
Bad cards,
Uninspiring efforts,

I'm a little burnt out dawg

Anyone with Me?
it's just a sign of that you're getting older and have ingested a lot of the product over the years. If you were at the age you just started watching mma or around the age of the golden age, whatever you considered the golden age, You'd probably love it still. All the guys you grew accustom to watching aren't here and more of the issues are on the surface, imo.

A 15 year old who just tuning into mma the first time would think this is amazing, the amount of coverage out there that there wasn't even present 5 years ago.

In 2021 alone, we've had #andnew 4 champions off the top of my head, plus the Yan DQ, which doesn't really count.

Rose
Moreno
Ngannou
Charles Oliveira

And Dustin upset Conor

Just depends on the card IMO. The fight last weekend I knew not to expect much and there were some good fights. I turned the main fight off cause Gane is boring as hell. Still had fun guys on the card like yancy, fili and jaynes. I would advise starting the card an hour late so you can fast forward through what you dont like.

I haven't watched it properly in ages!

I only have seen the izzy vs vettori fight and the volkov vs gane fight.

It's summer plus the Euros are on

It's getting stale, has been for years. Starting to really notice it. Saturdays card took about 15 minutes to find a good ... log in on ESPN+.... after the usual 3 ... log ins.... weren't there anymore, almost walked off because the card had no interest. Conor and DP coming up, should be fired the fuck up. Don't even know who else is on card because not sure if watching it yet.

I know how you feel, WMMA isn't evolving fast enough either (only WSW is decent)

but you have to remember through these hard times there will emerge a champion, a chuck, ronda, conor, gsp, anderson-eqsue fighter who will be so alluring and bring the sport back to new heights. This sport is very self correcting, frauds will be exposed in due time and it will be funny.

The prelims have been weak as fuck the last couple months.
Top fighters don't wanna fight, man. It's what it all boils down too. They're all looking to Crack the top 10 and wait. Everyone wants the money fight.

It is a huge fucking problem right now

Also the Paul bros have brought a shit ton of drama into the UFC's fighter pay

Also, remember watching at bars when everyone was excited about the UFC?

Rare to find a bar showing UFC now.

The crazy thing if you said that on twitter or any social media, people will think you are crazy

The ufc needs to rally to change the rules. Get one fc rules. They can bribe some athletic commission. Nothing has changed rule wise in almost 20 years since it was sanctioned. Thats gonna stagnant a sport. That’s a start. Sterling should not be champion.

Everyone is burned out.
Theres too many cards now.
They dont seem to put money into building up fights or fighters like before also.
Espn is also sucking the life out of things.

Same.

Cards don't feel exciting anymore. Skipped KZ vs Ige and was mostly on my phone bullshitting on here for this past weekends card. I haven't given it enough thought yet to really put my finger on it, but the magic just isn't there. What definitely stands out to me is guys avoiding each other.

This so much for me.

only the lower weight classes have proper match making. LHW, MW, WW, LW and even sometimes FW match making has been stupid as fuck as of late.

Only classes without this problem is wmma, but no one wants to watch nunes vs pena. I dare they to try it as a ppv headline.

I've felt that way for a few years now. The only thing that really got me amped recently was Rose's head kick.
