MMA has pushed me away recently

Last few months have kind of been trash...

Frauds becoming champions,
Broke fighters catching cases over money,
Canceled fights,
Boring fights,
Bad cards,
Uninspiring efforts,

I'm a little burnt out dawg

Anyone with Me?

I'm with you. I'm probably watching less MMA now than ever before. I think the UFC is just in a decline right now.

I used to religiously consume as much MMA as I could; From countdowns to press-conferences and early-prelims to never missing any fighter interview, would watch the real weigh-ins and the ceremonial weigh-ins and even training footage, pretty much everything and quite enjoyed it. Now I am reduced to barely caring about the main event or being more excited about celebrity boxing matches or bareknuckle fights. MMA or I should say, the UFC in particular has lost my interest. The best days for me were back when Pride and the UFC were battling for MMA hegemony, one thing that the UFC, especially Dana White fails to understand, is that competition is a good thing, makes you strive for better things and put on better cards and improve your product, but the UFC with their world-dominance-monopolistic-unified-rules-cage mentality has actually made the sport much worse and generic.

Anyone can be champion these days.

With the exception of Usman, this stable of correct UFC champions is an embarrassment to the sport.

It’s disappointing but so are the fans. Fighters are asking for more pay and all they can do is say “LOL TOLD YOU _____ WAS A DUCK”. “Dana told me they don’t want to fight!”

The current state of MMA is what the fans deserve, nothing more. Time to start watching other orgs.

The last PPV was fucking awesome despite Adesanya vs. Vettori being kind of a snoozer.

I do feel the same a little bit though. Sometimes I just want to skip a card but you never know if it could turn out great despite being meh on paper.

What irks me the most these days is the URC refusing to increase fighter pay. I’m not saying they should pay every main event fighter 10 million but at least pay people enough to where they don’t need a day job to survive.

I totally agree on the cards, you can’t expect people to pay 60ish bucks for a PPV when even die hard fans hardly know who half the fighters on the card are.

I had a blast watching BKFC on Saturday way more than the UFC card

Same.

Cards don't feel exciting anymore. Skipped KZ vs Ige and was mostly on my phone bullshitting on here for this past weekends card. I haven't given it enough thought yet to really put my finger on it, but the magic just isn't there. What definitely stands out to me is guys avoiding each other.

Almost this to a T. We definitely consumed all the same content. All of that seems like a chore now and I used to be legit stoked about it. Got my boys and cousins tired of my ass back then.
