MMA forgotten stories thread

Reminds me of Rafael Torre who lied about winning an MMA or BJJ tournament in some cornfields or some shit.
its even better than that from what i remember. he had one of his students drop him off in the middle of the woods so he could compete in this super secret kumite kind of bullshit. the guy was told to come pick him up the next day, which he did, and torre had his '1st place trophy' lol. i hope i didnt fuck that up too bad. the whole torre situation is worth reading up on, and i think youre right-im pretty sure it was sherdog that torre was posting on back then. rogan and edgy knew him back then too.

That last sentence is more delusional than Kevin Lee

Anderson and his people ducked Weidman for almost 2 years. Then we found out why.

Silva's manager ducked Weidman hard for almost two years. They were spooked.

I didn't check the whole thread to see if someone responded, but this is incredibly stupid. Weidman made his UFC debut in 2011 and they fought in 2013. The Chris got his first two, and then only, top 10 wins in 2012 and injured his shoulder at the end of that same year. He got his title shot next and, if anything, it came pretty fast.

some guy goes to shake michael bispings hand at start of prehistoric mma bout, bisping just kicks his teeth in

Well, not saying this does not look like an unsportsmanlike conduct. It does for sure. I remember Bisping himself commented about this incident. He said something like: "We went there, we bowed, the ref said 'fight', so I fought. No need to shake hands now." To be honest I find this much less unfair than what f.e. that annoying Colton Smith did (faking a glove touch and went for a takedown). Not even comparable in my opinion. But I admit I'm a longtime Bisping fan, so I might be biased.

About Gomi:

Failed to pass to the next grade of his Highschool and dropped out of it...
His father didn't like it and disowned him...
After that he bacame a 4x All-Japan Combat Wrestling Champion...
The rest is history...

Btw...check those japanese combat wrestling stuff out...it is pretty nice and a lot of jmma legends competed over there..

MMA Legend Joachim Hansen...

Was the first scandinavian world MMA champion, defeating Gomi for the Shooto LW Belt...

So if the UFC is trying to fool you, IF Gus becomes champion...by saying:WOW the first scandinavian bla bla bla!!
You now better ;)

Also
Hansen wasn't a full time fighter...he is a truck driver over in Norway

I miss that guy, wish he could have fought more

I remember after Fedor and Nog fought the 2nd time, where the fight was called NC due to headbutt,Fedor the next day went on a roller coaster with his head bandaged, theres a picture of Fedor looking like he has the time of his life on that coaster,(a hilarious picture which i unfortunatley cannot find any longer) and Nog was pissed off about it. "How can he celebrate?! I should have won this fight! The victory should be mine, he should be going home training!" etc

James thompsons last comment in this video sparked a revolution and sherdog had its first ever warwagon. When fans became BROTHERS.
