MMA fighters are poor

All human-beings deserve respect, and all fighters deserve respect.

MMA fighters are dogs, not lions. You are paid 5% to 20% of the money that you produce, there is no union, no healthcare insurance, you get a broken jaw, no-one pay your medical bills. It's a dog life.

Boxers are protected by the ALI ACT, and their contracts are less restrictive. MMA fighters in the UFC, or in One is basically a slave. Some lawyers independant lawyers even called UFC contracts slavery contracts.

Your are too emotional to understand the basics, and the facts that shape reality. That doesn't mean that you love some people, that your love will make them lions.

About me being the dog, I'm a free man. I wish I could say the same about you, my friend. You will understand this sentence very well. It is who says it, who is it, and you know it.
Do you not understand that calling someone a dog is insulting ?

It's just a meme expression. Kind of like Dana White's driveway snow joke.

But Dana does get paid good regardless. Last I heard he was receiving 20 million each year and has stock. Ironically he's probably the highest paid employee on the employee pay roll. Imagine if the CEO of the NBA was paid more than Michael Jordan or LeBron James.
He does deserve it. He created modern MMA. However UFC fighters do get like 20%. Is that 15-20% of the revenue ? So nobody considering cost. They should maybe get 40% of profits. They got 0 financial risk. So to say. If the UFC went brankrupt fighters would just leach onto the next guy who pays them the most.

Obviously. Overheads are rediculously high for this. Only top fighters can get away with it as long as their smart, mid end fighters have to have a second job.

I would love to see a UFC Cribs show lmao

Would be like:

Stipes doing alright.

Chandler too.

I don't think 10% made a milion. Maybe 5% in their whole UFC career. Probably not. A lot of people get cut.

I'd fight for the UFC if I could. Just crazy how Dubois got 70 mils. Lol fucking Daniel Dubois.
It’s definitely higher than 5%, it’s closer 10-15%. You got fighters like Holland with a base pay of 300k, who fights often & added bonuses, Angela Hill 100k/100k who fight often, fighters like Vera, Sandhagen, Thompson are making 300k, Hell Bobby Green made one million in 2023 alone. These fighters are not even champions and or fighters who move the needle, now think about the fighters who actually do.

People think Boxers makes millions from the get go, it’s a hard road for Boxers to get the top billing, Floyd Mayweather Jr didnt even get his first million payout till his 34 bout, prior to that his career earnings were close to 2million. Usyk first million dollar payout was 6yrs ago when he made his HW debut. Boxing is undoubtedly pays significantly more, but only handful will ever get there. Theres 20k pro boxers, and you only ever get to know 25-50 Boxers at a time.

Your pay reflects what you bring in. Same as any other business. If you excell you get life changing money. If your not then you take the 15/15 till you make it or do something else

Wrong.

Your pay is only as much as it takes for you to show up, what your bring in is the cap on what that pay can be, but it can also be FAR FAR less if you have no bargaining power.

Boxers have healthcare insurance? So you’re telling me UFC Fighters suffers a broken jaw when he’s in a fight or preparing for a fight, no one is paying for medical bills? He’s paying for it himself? Like cuts, broken bones, the fighter has to pay it out of his own pocket?

It is less restrictive, but it’s kinda funny because a few boxers has took a liking that the UFC having fighters all under one roof fighting the best is almost always matched up, what they don’t like is the payouts.

MMA fighters are somewhat underpaid but boxing goes WAY too far in the other direction. $200 million in combined purses for a fight like Usyk/Dubois is insanity.

you mentioned the common well known non champ level fighters who make a lot of money. Popular and had a lot of fights in the UFC. You gotta consider the horde of random undercard fighters who don´t last.

Most of people in the world are struggling paycheck by paycheck. So there is that. I think MMA fighters overall are making more than the average person in America.

meaning ?

The superstars take 100 mils and don´t care bout the rest of the card

That MMA fighters are better fighters than boxers cause their sport is superior ?
In Hogan's heyday, his salary IIRC was equal to the entire roster combined.

Yes, forever the paupers of the sporting landscape. Less than 20% of revenue going to the athletes is derisory.

That guy's talking out his ass, UFC covers medical bills for fights.
