MMA fighter you think you could beat?

I would like to say that in my prime, I was a badass that could defeat a UFC fighter.

Well, sorta, lol

I haven't done any kind of consistent training as an adult, but as a kid/teenager I did some training in TMA and wrestling; grew up in early years going to my dad's TMA tournaments.

Stott is 5"7" and claims a record of 30-0 in Army Rangers combat, plus a state tough man competition win (or so he claims). He claims to be an army ranger hand to hand specialist, but you tell me if he looks like he has skills. He has no other fight record than this one fight against Kerr.

I was much taller, more athletic, conditioned, and (although far from a good fighter) actually had some idea of how to fight in my early adult life, which Stott doesn't seem to. Prime Joy2day defeats Stott by GnP ref stoppage in round 3. I'm calling it.

I have it timestamped to the fight, but go back around 1:13 and you will see the original "Just Bleed" footage where the GIFs and memes are from! It was this fight!

You would get absolutely embarrassed.

Oh, is that why?

That's because you don't understand what you are watching.

Well, good luck with that.

Lol ok. Whatever helps you sleep at night. Technically true, but irrelevant to the discussion.

We are comparing the very best women with average men. Not average vs average.

The strongest women are stronger than average men. A lot stronger.

The best female fighters hit harder than an average man. A lot harder.

The toughest females are tougher than an average man. A lot tougher.

But sure, put all those things together and all of a sudden an average man is gonna beat a female pro?

Ok.
Why is your attitude so hostile?

Respectfully, you're wrong.
I'm not old and fat and still play for fun sometimes with people my age and 15 years younger and I don't get embarrassed.

Why would it be irrelevant to the discussion?
Those are attributes that are extremely relevant in combat. Hence why men and women compete separately, and women beating up men is mostly a thing seen in Hollywood movies.

Most female fighters lack KO-power against other dehydrated females, and you think they would have KO-power against a man who is 50-100 lbs heavier?

A good friend of mine joined a BJJ-class and was rolling with the female black belt teacher.
She got him in bad positions but he would just power out of it because of the big strength discrepancy.

I think you're overestimating the average level of WMMA in the UFC. There are some very good women, but most of them are not high level athletes. That's why they rarely have standout records.

We can agree to disagree.

Why is your attitude so hostile?
Because this topic attracts the most ridiculous people

We aren't talking about random people dude. We are talking about elite athletes.

Because we are not comparing average to average, as I explained. The average guy could not compete with an elite female athlete in any sport.

They don't need to one punch KO them. They just need to hurt them. And those "dehydrated females" are also professional fighters. And you are not.

Yeah and I'm sure she was trying her hardest

You are dramatically underestimating them, and that's precisely why you would most likely get embarrassed.
We can agree to disagree.
Ok

Some divisions have a very small selection base, not really neck at neck with soccer.

I wouldn't be surprise if the athletes at the bottom of their division would struggle giving up 20-40 pounds against hobbysts.

Sure he did

Very convincing anecdote
It's mind blowing, this guy is someone who talked about losing his first 3 amateur bouts in a row. I didn't witness the training, but I know the guy has zero ego and wasn't anything more than a guy who works on computers at the time and he even quit mma. He was also talking about training from the standpoint that he felt bad for her.

She lost her titleshot, but still it's ridiculous the notion women are a high level. I'm tired of showing up at mma parties where you listen to the one guy who says these women would kick everyone's ass in the room, they won't. I'm going to say some of the super high level ones probably would beat up alot of guys, but so many would lose to guys off the streets. I'd bet on a mma forum fan over most women in the UFC

You really think he would admit it if a woman was taking it easy on him? Lol ok. Super convincing.

How is it you manage to train 6x a week and why if you arent intended on fighting? I am just curious because that seems excessive if you are basically retired esepcially if training with pros. Unless you mean mainly Jiu Jitsu rolling.

This isn't true. It depends on the size and strength of the untrained man. Lets not be silly that martial arts gives someone superpowers. As Rorion Gracie once said "a woman with any amount of training, is going to have a hard time against a man".
Same for huge guys against small flyweight men, untrained would be at disadvantage still but you cant dismiss raw strength and weight.
I train 6x a week because I love it. I train Boxing, Bjj and MT I also lift (Bjj is the least the past 2 years). Training 6x a week is cheaper than therapy and Its how I scratch that itch post competing. I spar a couple days a week (sparred 2 pro boxers this morning). I love this shit and God willing I will be able to stay in the gym consistently for the rest of my life. I take the lessons I learn in the gym into every facet of my life and am a better businessman because of it as well as father. I’ve been doing this since a young age and it is as big and natural a part of my life as brushing my teeth and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Listen I know the guy spent most the time how he got his ass kicked in most fights or training. He brought this up one time. Whether you choose to believe me or not is up to you. It was not a brag. He was a noob and still beating the WMMA champion contender in standup. Sorry it's hard to break reality that these girls are dommy mommies. Their standup is really bad sometimes. If only some of the criticism of how people were speaking how far behind the male's standup went to females, but no it's like a protected class.

I don't believe him. They just is no way she was actually trying. He's a noob who didn't understand what was happening and thought he was winning.

Everyone probably thought he was a douche for trying his hardest.

It's also a lot easier for dudes to admit that they lost to a guy.

That's what I asked him if he was going hard and overpowered or what, but it was a normal spar he was just tagging her. Maybe it's a reach thing? I dunno. Guy is kind of not a tough guy. I never trained with him but he doesn't seem like that type. I worked with him for a year.

Either way, this was a woman who was actively training for an UFC title for her next fight. Whether you want to believe it or not. She was a fighter who preferred to stand up too. He had trained for a year beforehand so not a total noob, but the way he talked about the session was that he had to go easy because he was feeling bad for her and didn't want to spar with women anymore and wasn't going to get better without sparring guys in his own weightclass.

I was shocked at it too when I first heard about it. But it makes sense when you compare womens vs men sports. In almost everything the top women's pro divisions is about on par with male high school teams. So I guess it's a question of whether you think you would beat a high school boy in mma or not.

He didn't understand what was happening. Or he was bullshitting you. I don't believe for a second that he was taking it easy on her. It was more likely the other way around.

The reason you were shocked is because you knew in some level that it was bullshit.

Dudes are insecure and desperately want to avoid thinking that a woman could kick their ass.

So I guess it's a question of whether you think you would beat a high school boy in mma or not.
A high school kid with years of MMA training would beat the absolute shit out of the average guy.

Paddy Pimblett and Rory MacDonald were 16 and beating up grown men.

He didn't understand what was happening. Or he was bullshitting you.
Maybe. I guess I don't feel like going on painting a picture of who this guy is and why he's believable. Just if you ever hear another guy sparring with WMMA UFC fighters, add this to a tally in your memory book that perhaps the current wmma landscape isn't as skilled as you thought they were.

There is footage of girls like GDR who actually even KO'd a man in real competition. However I think some women are exceptions to the rules. We may differ, but I don't believe every WMMA fighter loses to every man, but I do think people would be surprised at how well they would do.

Training means I get to hurt myself and improve my life at the same time! Such a winning combo. The gym makes me a better father without question.

There is zero chance that your 0-3 amateur buddy could beat a UFC title contender in a fight. It sounds like you are talking about Joanne Calderwood, who was a Muay Thai champion.

What is much more likely is that your noob friend didn't understand what was happening and was going way harder than he admits to, because he was fighting a "girl".

She was going super easy on him, he was going fairly hard, and he felt like he was winning.

If she was going all out she would hurt him. If he was going all out he MIGHT lame something, but would most likely get countered unconscious almost immediately.

You really don't understand how WMMA fighters can hit, or get hit. Your amateur buddy is delusional if he thinks he has to take it easy on a pro. He was probably going wat too hard and they told him to chill, and he interpreted that to mean he was too strong.

If she was training for a title fight, her priority is not getting injured. Meanwhile, his priority is to save his sense of manhood.

I don't believe his story for a second.

Just passing the story on told to me which changed my own perspective. I will say it's not Calderwood, but really a name would identify too much with the information I've provided. Not trying to personally shit on women fighters.

Maybe you're right, I never personally witnessed anything, I took a story from a coworker I trusted to be honest. Like I said, make your own opinion. No one is ever 100% right, and neither am I. Muy Thai champs I would take more seriously as contenders to beat the average man. I'm mainly speaking about the pillow fisted WMMA fighters in the UFC who cruise to decision with some questionable striking.

You're an idiot, and luckily most of the world doesn't share your delusional fantasies.

The reason this issue is important to you has got nothing to do with the truth of the matter, but rather that you want to push your trannie nonsense and you see this fantasy as supporting that.

The fact is, you could train Joanna J-chek and Weili all you wanted (and I am a fan, I thought their fight was legendary) but the truth is the average man and even the average 15-16 year old boy would have a ridiculous advantage and at risk of seriously and permanently injuring them in any kind of unarmed combat.

Also remember that line "Secondary gender characteristics do not the man or woman make....and one more time now...secondary gender characteristics do not the man or woman make".

Btw how does it feel that all this gender pretending nonsense is being widely rejected and thrown out and called out now? Like they just banned males from womens sports common sense prevailed.
