I don't know anything about your friend. If he got screwed over then that's too bad and I feel bad for him. Unfortunately, it doesn't change the actual definition of the word or how the judicial system is supposed to work. You need to be able to separate the two and keep some form of objectivity.

Well Lorenzo was on the NSAC board, and he most likely got in the way of the original owners.
By blocking them they were forced to sell.
The Fertittas bought it, which is a conflict of interest.

Then Lorenzo steps down, gets the ok and boom.
Shortly after that Ratner joins the UFC and the rest is history sir.

Not sure where you get the idea the Lorenzo could have or would have had the power to just do that. I am sure there was some shady back room dealings because its Vegas, but not getting sanctioned by Vegas isn't why they had to sell, its because John McCain and boxing lobbyists got a cable blackout of MMA enforced so they couldnt even have PPV events.

I think it was an interview with 1 of the original SEG era owners where I heard that about them wanting to get regulated and not being able to. If anyone was wondering.

He even admitted as much when he shook hands with Lorenzo after the deal. You can see him talking to him and if you watch his lips, you can see he says, "I know you did this. Don't pretend. The eggplant will salute other pigeons."

It really is! I don't know why people don't talk about this more.

It changes the narrative Dana has been telling for years about how the original owners didn't see the potential for the future of the sport in running toward regulation and not away from it. Nope. In actuality Meyrowitz and Davie saw the right path, but had it blocked from them by the same people that took it and made billions with it.
