Did he have a temporary work visa upon arrival, or not? I’ve seen no evidence that he was ‘treated like a criminal,’ aside from a movie-like script complete with an AI-generated image of him in ‘federal prison.’ He’s a grown man who should have his ducks in a row before traveling to another country.

Regarding the Canadian woman, your article suggests she was rejected once at the Canadian border, doesn’t confirm whether she had a proper visa on the second attempt, and that she tried to enter the USA via Mexico after being flagged. Is that a smoking gun?

Jails/prisons seem like absolute shit in most places of the world, corrupt wardens, for profit, good ol boys clubs, criminals lording over criminals... What's the solution? Can't help people who won't help themselves...

This guy had a terrible experience apparently but for some loosely comparative context, Canadian border guards can treat incomers very unfairly as well, detaining and interrogating for hours where completely innocent visitors are treated as criminals, so, it happens.

I've got friends who were "cavity" searched coming back from Sault Ste. Marie into Michigan. We used to go up there because they let younger people drink and had strip clubs and this would have been 02/03 maybe

First time going up to Vancouver for the drinking and the strip clubs when we turned 19. My previous transgression got the vehicle we were in subjected to heavier scrutiny entering Canada.

They don't care, they're the type of dumb fucks who are like, "well, this doesn't happen to me, therefore it's fake news." None of them care, they're only going to care when it starts being them or their family getting fucked with.

What all of this has show has been the overwhelming lack of empathy in the average person. I don't give a fuck about a lot of people, and loathe the majority of humanity, but I still want this to be a safe place for everyone to live and be happy. He would have received a copy of one of those forms—or something similar. The document explains why he was refused entry and/or detained. It's part of standard procedure and gives the individual something tangible to reference when reapplying for entry or seeking legal advice.
