Barry Bonds is the home run king yet very few legitimately consider him as such even though he never got busted for PED use. 20 to 30 years from now, pre-USADA MMA will have a huge asterisk next to it.

Most title defenses (Anderson)? Youngest champion (Jones)? For future fans, who are infants now, none of these things will truly count. Fighters from this era who truly were clean will be painted with the same PED stained brush.

The GOAT? Nobody who is currently brought up in GOAT debates (Anderson, GSP, Jones) will merit a mention 20-30 years from now.

It will be hard for current fans to dismiss the epic fights and memories of the pre-USADA era. But for future fans, they will easily accept that legitimate MMA started in July 2015.

What are you going to tell your kids and grandkids when they say "But everybody cheated back then?"

Talk to us when another fighter comes along and defends their title 8-10 times in dominant fashion.

I'll be one of those nostalgic, grumbling old men and tell them "screw these new kids, they ain't no Georges St-Pierre!".

Why are people concerned about how other people view a fighter's legacy?

I hate PED's but in this game there hard to get around. And with no real testing until recently I don't think you can look down on the legends from the early days.

I call bullshit. If that was the case then every single major sports would currently be illegetimate because none of them has random USADA testing all year round.

Jones, GSP, Fedor and Anderson will be looked upon favourably in the future in GOAT discussions due to nostalgia and rose-tinted glasses. A huge amount of people think Pele is the greatest ever footballer just because he was ripping it up 50 years ago.

The sport will still be dirty 50 years from now.

The ped companies are always ahead of agencies like usada. When guys get caught it's because they messed up.

The sport has been dirty since the Pancrase days. The top 2 fighters during ufc 1 have both been confirmed as ped users. I'd be willing to bet that every single champion in ufc or pride history has used ped's at some point.

And it will still be the same when we are all grumpy ass old men.

Will be seen as the time where the fights were fun to watch

Ill tell them this was when fighters were truly the greatest possible physical gladiators.

I want my fighters to be enhanced as fuck, damnit.

I firmly believe the opposite will be true. Baseball is a numbers game, that's why people get up in arms over Bonds, Sosa, McGwire, etc. They skewed numbers by cheating, making them unreachable naturally, so, I can understand baseball fans outrage. Combat and high-impact physical sports are totally different. I think in the future, people will look back on this era wondering why we forbade these kinds of athletes to perform at their best and healthiest considering what they go through in action and in training for our entertainment. I'll say it again, but only in sports do we hold back medical science. We'll look back on this the same way we are starting to view marijuana and other soft recreational drugs.

Because he clearly was.

You mean the ufc . Mma doesn't answer to usada. Just one organisation does

The way to circumvent that is simply have a system where peds are legal. Pride had it. UFC had it with TRT. When it's legal. It's not cheating. It's within the rules and should be looked at as legitimate for the time.

In this new Era. Peds are strictly forbidden. Especially under USADA. It's cheating if caught.

You either change the rules to allow peds so it's not cheating. Or you fucking follow the current rules and don't use peds. Pretty simple right?

Illegitimate and less sexy
