I have heard some older people in their 80s say the same thing.Just want to say this, I've watched baseball since the 1980s. And I've never seen a player like Ohtani, he is unique among the greatests baseball players. If he continues doing his thing for another 4-5 years. He'll be known as the greatest without a doubt.
If Balco was still around Ohtani would hit 80.I've seen Shohei take too many strikes and then swing at pitches way outside. He just doesn't seem lethal like Barry Bonds. Sure he can get hot, but this season especially, it's like his head wasn't in the at bats. I don't think he'll break Barry's single season record. Maybe he can if he sets his mind to it and focuses the whole season.
Bet the house on Seattle now.
