I mean sheesj, he made 350 k for his first three fights and then 75 k!? That is terrible but we can expect that Cro Cop made made around 100k per fights 2005-2006 in Pride?

this has probably already been said, but here's some history.

• He made more than $100k per in Pride. In fact, he held out before a GP finale (4 fighters 1 night) until they agreed to pay for 2 fights if he win both. He held out until the morning of the event, and Pride caved. So he got paid twice for beating Wandy and Barnett. That had never happened before. I don't remember the number but I think he earned in the neighborhood of $500k that night.
• When he signed with UFC he said no to win/show and points. He wanted a flat rate. Dana obliged.
  • (I think years later Overeem did this too, but again I have no source).

Mirko Cro Cop had a lot of miles, in MMA he was 22-4-2 when he signed for the UFC and he was an elite K1 kickboxer before and even during his MMA career fighting Aerts, Hoost, Hug, Hunt, LeBanner, Bonjasky etc in their primes, beating most of them. So he was Also 19-6 at the K1 level before signing with the UFC too. Then you gotta consider his amateur boxing background where he competed at high levels he was Croatian national champion, a Mediterranean Games Bronze Medalist and represented Croatia at the 1997 world games.

Think about this...Yeah he was only 32 when he signed to the UFC but the guy had more high level fights than NGannou and Stipe Miocic combined at that point. I don't think it was the rules change, shit just catches up to you.

I was huge on UFC > Pride back in the golden era but all BS aside lets see all the UFC fighters get bought out by PRIDE and go compete in a ring in Japan. In other words what I thought was going to happen for the most part did happen which is guys like Mirko and Fedor who were as you said over the hill got 'exposed' at that stage of their career because as Mirko said he didnt even train for take downs or ground game.

It was just too late into their careers; I do recall every one defending PRIDE and mentioning Noguiera + Hendo + Rua + Rampage + many others did just fine in the UFC. I just think the heavies fell big time
