Jon Jones isn't fighting anytime soon, he's blatantly suspended for roids. I've never seen a clearer case of it in my life, the UFC are running cover for him until his suspension is up.

Big Frank is a free agent, he's not gonna re-sign with the UFC unless they also let him box

I wouldn't be suprized if they let both rumours out to get negociation leverage.

Francis can in theory fight one more fight under his current contract if it's before the end of the year, but he has said that there is no way he is figthing again under the current terms, so he must re-sign before.

He definitely wants to solidify his legacy, and I don't think he (or Dana) will make it personnal in business negociations. But he is also quite stubborn on what he wants, and the UFC has almost never budged in the past.

What if this guy is just a ghost account of the UFC’s marketing/leadership to see how the masses would respond to the “fake” news?

They couldn’t put it out through a legit reporter because then they look like asses if the numbers don’t come back right. Good way to do a focused target study, to see what the best options are financially for matchmaking

Actually the rumor —or at least, rumor of that date being targeted — had already been floated "per Ariel Helwani" a few days back. Far more likely this faux poster etc is due to a giddy fan inspired by that than some secret UFC feeler.
