apparently the shooter also verbally endorsed an RNC candidate in Texas in a video that was then deleted, who had white supremacist ties. Could be a troll however, as with the rest of it.

Whatever this person was, it wasn't caused by leftist critique. I think more central question isn't so much political ideology, but whether this person was a psychopath or a sociopath. And based on what leaked regarding the manifesto, it seems more like a psychopath - the talk of wanting to feel powerful killing children is a red flag. And the Trump and Elon killings could be apolitical to such a person. Rather just using assassination talk as a superficial and self-aggrandising ways to boost an ego - to be remembered by killing a famous target. Nothing to do with ideology. To go down in the history books.

But my concern is less all of that and just wanting trans people not to be targeted and set up by influencers or the Trump admin for some vigilante justice, rights reductions, or bullying, with all the fear mongering. Nutjobs are worked up enough about bathrooms and sports, without adding ticking time bomb child killers to the ongoing rhetoric.

If anything it should be an eye opener and warning to parents. Id your child has insane , impossible , delusional thoughts ( like being trans ). You need to parent better. You need to be more involved and you need to actively check up on them regardless of age.

Not able to post about this stuff in the thread about the actual shooting because not related to the shooting itself, but is interesting that this person might have been a powder keg ready to explode and pushed over an edge by social media rhetoric.

But because of recent laws, trans and lgbtq activists in general were calling for protests specifically in Nashville where the shooting took place.

these people obviously feel religious people are responsible for the law changes and likely want to target religious people in their day of vengeance

I typed in “Minnesota shooter” on Reddit and like 15 threads popped up. I would have assumed there would be more but I’m not an expert on Reddit so someone else will have to weigh in. I believe you that there might be some preening happening, but the characterization that the story is being stamped out is an extreme exaggeration
