As of right now, the NY Post has provided photos and extensive info about the shooter.
The NY Times has not provided any photos of the shooter or info, besides a name. I believe there are several alternate scenarios (ie shooter was a Proud Boy, a member of the Oathkeepers, a neo-Nazi, shooter was white and victims were not, etc) in which the NY Times would have acted differently.
