Pjs are legit, they have to plug in anywhere be good at trauma med and recovery. Lots of qualifications to keep up for them. The guard units do some crazy stuff, mountain rescues, water rescues, go to Thailand and save kids.

Pjs controllers and TACPs all share an indoc now, at least part of one.

In another life i would have gone PJ.

I had a couple of buddies who were former PJ's. They had to cross-train out of the career field because of injuries, but they said as soon as they were good to go, they were going right back to it.

I think attrition says a lot, buds destroys more dreams than ranger school and all the studs hit training prior that prepares them for their endeavor. Kind of the same with what the ccts pjs have going on. These guys are running 3mi in under 21min, passing the 500m open swim test, all those physical gates before arriving.

I have nothing against SEALs or BUD/S training. The training is indeed hard and selective, but of a different nature. Compare SAS vs. French Foreign Legion entrance. I think SAS selection is harder than Ranger school, Special Forces, or BUD/S. Classes graduating from 0 to 4 to 7 men out of 100. SEALs have a reputation for being young, immature, and inexperienced when compared to U.S. Special Forces. SF men are usually older, more mature, experienced and higher in rank. Same for Delta or 1st SFOD-D.

A well know SEAL fuck up was Operation Red Wings. An area of Afghanistan where U.S. Marines had already refused to operate. The mission was originally assigned to the Marines. Lieutenant Michael Murphy was killed for not knowing how to use a satellite phone. Petty Officer Danny Dietz, the comms guy, basically gets the 4 men team killed by not knowing how to use the radio for help. So, a radio fucked the mission up. All that training for nothing. This is not the first time I heard of SEALs not knowing how to use the most updated radio in the inventory for a mission. Then you have the whole fiasco with the CH-47 Chinook helicopter.

But BUD/S is 6 months long. And no female has passed it yet whereas quite a few have graduated Ranger school.

...just give it some more time.
One will graduate once standards are lowered. If it happened to the U.S. Army, it will happen to the U.S. Navy.

...and here we have a guy (NCO) who went through Ranger school, served with the 75th Ranger Regiment, and later became a 'green' beret with U.S. Special Forces after completion of the 'Q' Course. Also, SCUBA qualified. To him, Ranger school was the hardest school in the U.S. Army at the time.
