DEI initiatives allow people with down syndrome to work at McDonald's, or a handicapped person to work a job that suits their handicap. They also prevent biases, which tend to filter OUT people with less merit who were hired because of the color of their skin over someone more qualified with a less favorable color.

They dont put blind people directing air traffic as per your insinuation.

Literally 4 miles away from where I live and am typing this from.

500 hours is a significant amount of experience flying. It was an annual evaluation flight, not an actual training mission. Helicopter pilots only get so many hours of flying time because flights are generally short.

All 3 on board were pilots with hundreds of hours of experience.

I'm not disputing it was a woman, I'm disputing that 500 hours is some insignificant amount of flying time. Also from the DoD, the three flying were some of the most experienced pilots on that route they have. Pilot in Command is also not the one in control of the flight sticks generally unless it's an emergency during an evaluation flight.
