If only women in the military actually looked like this.

In 2002 dollars, 60k isn't enough for me to murder brown people, carry radioactive waste barehanded, and come home to the garbage I saw at my local VA as a medic. Never ever.

I am not saying I don't have a price. I have a number for which I'll put a missile on a wedding with my own finger. 60k ain't it though.
What radioactive waste were you handling?

The Pentagon said they were eyeing a booster mandate. Seems likely it will be a perpetual booster train, and the FDA has announced future formulas will be rolled out to the market with no clinical trials at all. It's not hard to imagine a scenario in which a segment of a new alleged variant's spike protein resembles tissues inside the human, leading to auto-antibodies and autoimmune disease. Meat-head stereotype aside, maybe the recruits aren't that dumb.

Maybe they should be asking WHY none of the able people want to work for them?

Is fighting a war for no reason helping? For like 20 years. And all the stories of treating everyone like shit after they get out. And the low pay.

I'm having a real hard time seeing why anyone would want to join

What did you mean? Congress?

Also they were offering 60k to new recruits the beginning of this year. That blows my mind that they couldn’t meet quota

60k for what exactly? A 6 year enlistment? 10k a year isn't alot of money.

They'll cover most of it, but not all.

My old boss was an army ranger (actual 75th Regiment). He fucked up his shoulders during his service and VA refused to pay for his care saying it wasn't occupational. Good thing he had a great paying consultant gig to actually pay for surgeries and medications. You can guess how supportive he is when people ask him about joining the military.

If Uncle Sam constantly fucks current or retire members of the military, why would people want to join? Nobody gets a job so they can get shit on.
Yep. No point in joining for the benefits if the benefits don't actually go that far.

We're fucked, the weakest most manipulated and emotional generations are supposed to defend and progress this country? All while we're being destroyed by the entities we expect to have our best interests as a priority...

One way to increase military recruitment is to have some sort of "unifying" event...

No shit. Why would anyone want to risk their lives to go overseas and die in resource wars for the elite? People are probably starting to wake up.

It’s pretty clearly not about “defending our country” anymore and has not been for sometime. America hasn’t been in a deserving war since WW2.

How are we fucked? Our country is still great and military recruitment going down means fuck all cuz we should stay in our own business for a while anyways. If there's a legitimate threat you can bet people will sign up and you can bet army will waive shit like ADD thats preventing some from joining. I think our nation needs to get its head out of its ass on some issues but military recruitment being down is no big deal at all imo.

Why would they want to join the military when Blackwater pays more?

It's a bonus. 60k on top of pay is a lot
Depends from tax man...
In some EU/EEZ countries if you will have 60 k per year paycheck ....taxman will take 33-55 %.
After this you will have to pay more than half from car fuel prices because tax a, tax b, tax c and tax d and tax e....
Then..." nice " VAT %....for everythhing you will buy...
And really " cool " mortgage tax.
+ listen mantras like " LNG terminal is bad idea ", " local oil shale and peat and coal is bad thing ", " too much cattle in your farm is bad cos they does do poo .....and might create methane..."

It is EU not NATO who should die and not cry cos they are oppressive hypocrite parasitic institution ....
Useless burden with xxx xxx parasites in cublicles plus cool Germany ....God...

gen zero kids just need a smart phone to stare at tick tack and follow their favorite influencers on social media.

no kid is going to choose going to bed early and wake up at 5am to do exercise as you become a stooge for the government when the other option is work a pt job, pay a virtual visit to your only fans girlfriend when you get home and just play video games all night

Presumably the same pool of applicants we already work with, so to speak? It's not like congress is full of academic scholarships from Harvard and people who enlisted in the military for a full career.
It's about more than Congress though. It's all the way down the line. When I was more politically active, it was always what the party was looking for before running someone. Education or military experience. Those things resonate with voters and with good reason.

A well educated individual is someone who has taken the time to learn about something and shown a willingness to study a subject, not just fire off hot takes. A person with military experience, even if it's short, is someone who took a risk to their own life on behalf of others. Not every educated person and not every service member is someone who should be leading the country or did anything exceptional while in school or the service but they are good baselines to start with. Added to that, I've come to accept that experience with bureaucracy is an underrated qualifier.

Could the guy working the Wendy's cash register be a great politician? Sure but we probably want a little more experience before we run him for office.
