Mike Tyson's famous training routine is most likely fake.

I don't believe Tyson was juiced up. He's the most self loathing fighter in history. He'd have admitted it by now.

That dont mean you're gonna fess up on everything. Half that self loathing and excessive weed smoking is prolly because he doesnt wanna face certain things. Admitting to steroids would most likely be seen as giving him an asterix next to his legacy which could be crushing to him. Wouldnt change my view on him one way or the other

It depends what type of pushups. I see black folks at the park do these pushups where they aren't going all the way down or locking out. They just float in the middle range. They can get a lot of reps doing that pump style. I was talking to some really old dude at the park when I was walking my friend's dog. He does sets of 40-50 in a short amount of time.

For shits and giggles I googled world record pushups in 1 minute and record for an hour. It's the same style of pump pushups. I think you can do 1000 pushups if you spread it across the day. They aren't "real" full ROM push ups. Tyson was definitely not doing those crunch pushups combos(Tyson pushups) for 2000 reps a day.

He constantly shits on his own legacy. He's admitted to fighting with STD's, on coke and weed- I'm not sure he really cares about how other people view his legacy.

I would never recommend anywhere close to that amount of sit ups to anyone, as you're just asking for back problems, but the rest of it isn't outlandish at all, whether it's what he actually did or not.
According to the U.S. military (and pretty much all the scientists across the globe), the ideal amount of situps per day is 0. There's a bunch of other exercises that would still work your wore without destroying your hip flexors and putting you in a wheelchair at 60 years old.

Yep. Nowadays sit ups are generally considered a poor exercise like you say.

Probably the most famous legendary routine in boxing history.

2000 pushups, situps, shrugs, squats etc or something like that, plus jogging and hitting the pads etc.

I always believed this, but from what I heard it was a fake routine posted as a joke that kept getting circulated.

More than likely I would say his calisthetic rep numbers were closer to around 350, if you go by the squat card game he allegedly played. But I doubt it was every day. And I'm not completely sure it was even that much.

I think the legend comes from the fact that Tyson was undoubtedly a well built guy, yet very short for HW. Plus with having to do a lot of conditioning it is hard to say how he was able to maintain that much mass at the same time.

it is always said that mike didnt lift weights but I'm not sure. Seems like a hard physique to build without it.

It is possible that he was so juiced up that he was able to do 300 plus or so squats and pushups a day and build it.

Thoughts?

Juiced. Likely not. After seeing pics of him in his teens, im quite certain its just incredible genetics coupled with an intense diet and training routine.

Mike doesnt seem like the guy who has reasons to bullshit about anything. To the contrary, after catching his show in Vegas he seems like the most brutally honest person on Earth.

Oh he cares. No one cares about a fighters outside struggles if they are considered a Great. You can be boozer, a druggie ,a thief, a murderer, a spousal abuser etc..people will just see that as a The Troubled Life of a Fighter. Anything that chips at the root of what he is almost worshipped and revered for -his savagery and power -would cut right at the root of what still matters to him. i mean the guy is also unstable as much as i love em, he does a lot of self deprecating, "im a messed up guy", "i did alotta bad things" "I was scared.." but it would kill him for the public to turn on his Prowess/Power/ from his hey day as just a fake manufactured Steroid cheat and not real. That would gut the guy.

I don't know where you're getting all this from but it's way off. Have you ever even listened to Tyson before? He had a podcast with hundreds of hours of hom talking about his past career, he's always the first to denigrate himself. And even if he did admit to steroid use 20 years ago, nobody would give a shit. Everybody loves Mike. Do you remember he is also a convicted rapist? Out of every crazy thing that's happened in his life the least of his concerns would be steroid use ages ago. Roy Jones popped, Tyson fury popped, neither of their careers were ruined.

I would always hear shit like RJJ does 1000 situps a day, and there is a vid where Floyd said he does 1000 pushups a day. No doubt it's possible for them to do those in a day, just not everyday. It's like sparring 30 rounds a day, they can conceivably do it, but what's the point?

Did he admit to raping that girl? (semi-serious question, I feel like he never talked about it)

Mike Tyson isn't any more self-loathing than any other person...of course he would lie about doing things that damage his perception.

I'm literally at a restaurant that has a Mike Tyson action figure behind me from some cartoon show, he is still a businessman.

I recall him saying he did NOT rape her but said he'd done worse things in his life.

he never admitted it, and as controversial as it may sound, i believe him.

also, when asked if he regretted anything about the situation, he said he wished he did rape her, so he'd be in prison for something he actually did. that's some fucked up logic, but it kind of makes sense if you imagine being mike lol.

I dont think he ever claimed that was his training routine from his own mouth though.

Sounds like you're getting your stuff from my post -thats where

Just because something seems and sounds so outrageous and impossible to u, doesn't mean that it is not possible for somebody to do it regularly

I've seen Floyd's "pushups" and with the way he does them, doing a 1000 a day is feasible.

1. If you go on youtube and search "mike tyson strength workout/training", you will find out that he used weights

2. It seems impossible to build his physique without using weights. And steroids. I can't believe there are people who actually think Tyson was natural.

3. That 1 hour pushups records video is funny. It's like I am saying I am doing dips and only do shrugs on the parallels.

4. People lie. Especially people who tend to get a face tattoo and rape women. Yes, his routine is fake.
