Mike Tyson figuring out that he's Balrog/ M Bison

To clear that Dan ispiration up: Capcom wanted to mock SNK's "Art of Fighting" games, so they made an intentionally weak as fuck character who looks like a mix of the 2 main characters from the Art of Fighting franchise: Robert Garcia and Ryo Sakazaki (Dan has basically Robert Garcia's head and Ryo Sakazaki's gi).

Robert Garcia in the Art of Fighting games was based on Steven Seagal, which is why Dan also kinda resembles him. Ryo Sakazaki was actually inspired by Ryu and Ken from the first Street Fighter, which the creators of Art of Fighting worked on previously. SNK also has a similar "mock" character towards Capcom in Yuri Sakazaki, who uses most of Ryu and Ken's move while canonically only knowing the "most basic" form of Ryo Sakazaki's style.

thank you for the post but i belive i mixed him with able instead of dan. i seen a video on youtube talking about the sambo and mixing in strikes and grappling. i seen dan and was like "yeah that guy has a gi.". but its actually Able who is dressed and fights sambo.

I'm guessing that if Boxer's name was M.Bison a lot more people would have made the connection that Mike Tyson is in Street Fighter lol.

Just capcom avoiding lawsuits. What’s crazy is when we were kids, 1991, we would all try to guess what the M from Bison meant. Mayor Bison? Master Bison?

I had a world record score in Mike Tyson’s punch out something like 15,000 something points for the video game nerds who have the game handy if any on here and I conversed with him briefly on Twitter about it ,very surreal .

Tyson just recently played his own punch out game maybe 3 years ago and couldn’t get by Glass Joe,he’s not a video game guy at all .lol
