i watched a vid of them passing the rope side to side, and it seemed like they were jumping over it. I'm adept at skipping rope and tried it today; it doesn't seem like the mechanism is possible since your arms and torso are in the way. Are they actually jumping over the rope as they swing it side to side?

the way it's done is it's swung to the sides of the body, who thunk all that up I dont know but it's the way it's done. the arm crossing and all of that, at least for me, alleviates fatigue in the shoulders a bit without slowing down or stopping.
