how can people blame Perry for this lol the old guy charges at him and litterally agrees to get knocked out "how about I knock your old ass out motherfucker"and the old guy says let's go and lunges at him, wtf do you expect lol
any way you see this different means you're biased as fuck

He's a professional fighter. His hands are deemed as weapons.

He should not be getting into street fights. Self defense or not, why not put him in a hold until security arrive? He can easily do that. Perhaps take him down and control him? The old guy didn't even throw a punch, for fuck sake.

Here's a video of Coby Gibson getting cracked hard but restraining himself and taking the fool down, instead of knocking the guy the fuck out which he could have.

Couldn’t agree less. If you’re an adult and approach another adult aggressively then you are partially responsible for what happens next. BJ Penn didn’t strike first and he got laid out. If you fall back and hit your head on the ground you can die. I don’t care how much training a person has, they have a right to stand there ground and do whatever is necessary to protect themselves. Even if that means laying a mature man out.

My good man, I don't think its blame. Seriously he could have killed that old codger. Is it worth it being charged with aggravated manslaughter or even murder? I know it's hindsight and when you have an immature MMA UFC fighter possibly drunk, it's a recipe for disaster. Like with Jon Jones and snorting cocaine and running over pregnant women, this is probably not the last we hear of him in regards to this sort of behaviour.

I hope Dana White, calls the idiot in and has a good talk with him and insist if he want's to stay in the UFC, he joins a reputable gym and put him under the tutelage of some reputable trainer who can mentor him, to bring some stability in his life.

He's a harmless old man FFS. If a small child kicks you in the shins do you pick them up and piledrive them into the concrete?

You don't know that. The old fat guy was a heavyweight with man strength. He very easily could've been an old boxer in the Navy with vicious KO power.

But it wasn't a small child, was it? Past his best for sure, but still clearly up for a brawl, so by no means is he harmless.

You're right, I suppose it could have been the fat guy who koed BJ's dad

He probably won’t. Dana probably doesn’t care. He might be cut after 251 so it doesn’t overshadow (not that it would)

he gave the likes of Jeremy Stephens the benefit but look at the guy Perry flattened. Not even remotely a fair fight. He’s done

mike perry is a trained MMA guy who should know the responsibility he has comming forth from that. You are trained to not use it on the street. When you encounter someone who like this old guy, you walk away. perry seemed to be leaving but going back and making more problems. The opposite of what he shouldve done! Sure he gets called out in the end but he shouldve been the better man here!

He actually did leave and when Perry finally was outside of the club the old fat guy decided to start talking shit and then finishing it up with saying "lets go then" and walked out the club towards Perry.

Perry acted like a dumb 18yo but it's pretty crazy how fucking stupid the old guy must be. What are you? 60+ years old? And you are STILL getting in confrontations like this?? How the fuck have you NOT learned this lesson yet??

I don't understand why Perry isn't in jail. It's going to be lawsuit city on him in any event.

What a fucking scumbag motherfucker. I know lesser known fighters who have avoided exact situations like that many times. If I ever bump into Perry on accident and he starts with that shit, he's getting 3 hollow-points to the dome no question about it.
lmao. i feel you tho. super UNnecessary seems like an appropriate term right about now for this situation

What the hell was the old guy thinking?
i dunno. he charged at him and got what he deserved. was playin the tough guy.
i'm only judging that scene, dunno what happened before that

This incident will serve as a test of how much the UFC likes Perry. It's a bad look for him, and indirectly them, but not an out and out disaster. If they like him enough, they could play the anger management card and wait until the outrage dies down.

The "outrage" comes from the media and some of the public, not from me. Mike should have walked away earlier, but the other guy was the aggressor.

That’s not what I saw.

perry : “Y’all gonna get the police”
Old guy (mocking) “Git da po-lice”
Perry: “I’ll knock your old ass out“
Old: “do it” (charges forward with hands up)
perry got all full of energy after the man mocked him. The man got scared and thought perry was coming at him so he did what he did! thats what i saw
