Mighty Mouse

MM isn't the biggest FlyW and his time has also passed. He would struggle with the top BWs right now. I wish he had taken another crack at BW during his prime but the Bald Goof was criminally underpaying him and ultimately wasn't willing to pay up for it. War MM. Flyweight GOAT.

River gave Yan tons of trouble on the feet with his counter striking, speed and boxing. And he's about the same height as mighty mouse.
At no point of his career post moving down to flyweight after starting at BW did DJ show any willingness to go back up, hell he didn't even want to fight TJ at 125. On skill alone he doesn't beat Yan or Sterling. As for the chances of him ever returning to the UFC, given the money he's making and opponents he's facing in One, I'd wager they lie somewhere between buckley's and none.

Are you agreeing or disagreeing that his time has passed? He's had a great career but he's not near what he once was imho.
I'm more just considering whether DJ's time is up, or coming to an end soon. He won 3 fights last year including Danny Kingad, who is no joke.

It's impossible to say for sure but watching him in the FlyW tourney I don't think he's where he was in ~2016. He was operating on a different level back then. He's been off for a year now as well but maybe some time off will help him.

Hopefully the Moraes fight happens some time soon which will show where he's currently at.

LOL he wasn’t even willing to fight Dillasnake coming down to 125lbs...

Prior to that Dom easily slapped him around and EXILED him from BW.

MM made his name fighting subpar 125lbs competition, he’s in the minor leagues for a reason.

<DisgustingHHH>
Johnson was only training twice a week back then and simultaneously doing full time construction work:

And in spite of that, he won the stand up against a prime Cruz.

Johnson wanted to fight Dillashaw (during his first and second run), Garbrandt, and Cruz (during his first and second run) at 135 lbs, all he asked for was a $1-2 million total purse.

He wouldn't even agree to fight Dillashaw at 125 without him having a fight there first. Not even going to mention he threw out a number he knew he wasn't going to get when asking for 2million when inclusive of win bonuses he topped out at what around 440-500k in his last couple of fight. Guy would have got creamed at 135 and he knew it, no wonder he was content beating lesser opponents at 125.

The only pic I see of him post fight he looked Vitor juicy.
Maybe he had perfect down lighting and a vascular pump

That one's touched up. They forgot to blend his bug bites.

Isn’t your sentence up ?

Against Yan? I think so. I would like his chances for sure. I don't think there are very many threats for him at 125 or 135 right now. Yan, Aljo, and Fig are the big challenges but I favor DJ over all of them

The people that discredit mighty mouses skill have likely never trained any martial arts a day in their life. Your favorite fighters favorite fighter is probably Mighty Mouse. He's arguably the perfect fighter in terms of skill. I especially love his clinch work.
I agree, skill-wise, DJ is just above everyone, perfect technique, perfect timing, very creative and unpredictable, I'm pretty sure you can't do better in MMA.
I've always been amazed by the skill lvl in flyweight and bantamweight.

Too small. At 125 though, he'll still rule.
I'm confident he'd beat Cejudo if they fight for the 3rd time.
