Mighty Mouse UFC 1

It's a big weight, strength and height advantage and the guy actually knew what he was doing in terms of grappling. I see it as very hard for MM to overcome that.
MM can actually wrestle and strike though ... wtf would those slow ass 'big' guys do against MM running all over them and hitting every single fucking single or ankle pick he wanted? Not to mention, all he would really have to do is keep moving for 90 fucking seconds while all of those dumbasses gassed because they had no idea what they were getting into.

Why would he grapple with Royce?

He'd probably be 145ish in-cage to Royce's 176 (?).

Defend Royce's telegraphed takedowns and kickbox him up.

There's a reason why Gracie's don't do well in modern mma. Even current day Gracie's who have all of the advantages that Royce didn't have with a understanding the developments in MMA have a tough time. Royce would telegraph every move from a mile away and would never get in on MM. Royce would be a one trick pony and MM would see that trick right away.

DJ would win hands down. Size only matters when skill is equal. He was about 10000000x more skilled anyone there.

He would have absolutely dominated the scene. Size stops mattering that much when you have such a huge skill gap.

This.

Size only matters if the size negates the skill gap.

MM is so far beyond that one style tournament shit that he'd probably win at his walking weight, around 145.

Well he wouldn't have to cut weight, so he'd probably weigh somewhere around 145 - 150. If Royce won it, who's only like 20 lbs heavier back then, I don't see why a far more highly skilled MM couldn't win it.

Did you even watch UFC 1 bro?
Spoken like someone who has never grappled in their life. Royce is 6'1", Might Mouse is 5'3" limb length is huge in BJJ. Zero % chance Might Mouse at 5'3" and 135 is able to win that tournament. As far as him vs Shamrock or Kimo you gotta be kidding me, wouldn't be close.

Royce would be a middle weight lol, huge difference than DJ as a bantamweight.
180 is more like a Lightweight or a small welterweight and he was beating guys like Severn who was 250lbs.

I have grappled damn near my entire life, i feel like you are getting carried away by nostalgia. They would probably get submitted with a move they have never seen before, leglocked, knocked out with a kick that they never learned how to defend, just plain gassed or very possibly knocked out with ground and pound. DJ may really be on another different level. No one in UFC 1 knew what they were doing or what to expect, MMA training didn't even exist, people trained boxing and BJJ or wrestling totally separately, i doubt they even knew how to check kicks.
I absolutely love Royce and the old guard but this is what i believe in, i do think the sport has evolved this much

Royce Gracie was in his guard a majority of the time. How could DJ even be in a guard? His stubby ass legs would never wrap around a Kimo type frame. He would just get rag dolled and then easy ground and pound.

Gracie couldn't be a lightweight he would realistically be a welterweight. He used hi GI to perfection, not sure he beats Severn without it. Don't think DJ with a GI matters as much, limbs are too short to utilize vs bigger guys.

You sure he couldn't be a lightweight? He was 178lbs without cutting weight and likely wasn't on a specific diet plan or anything either. There are guys at 145 that walk around that heavy. I just think a well rounded athletic fighter like DJ would still do very well in the early days. Most the fighters that could strike had zero tdd or ground game and vice versa. The striking of some of these guys was so horrendous I wouldn't be surprised if DJ starched them on the feet.

I didn't mean guard like in bjj guard, i meant like in ''guards'' to refer to the old fighters

You really think DJ knockouts out Kimo. I don't see it, I see him rag dolled and ground and pound easy.
