The weight cutting rules in that promotion are weird. That guy was significantly larger than Demetrious.

Best for ONE FC to find out if they signed someone good or someone shitty so maybe they can cancel the deal early, I dunno. I wouldn't want to over pay for a non-needle mover who isn't good at MMA.
 
To be fair , they are fighting bigger guys as well due to OneFC's weight cutting rules. Sage and Johnson were fighting guys at least a weight class bigger.
 
They're also fighting guys now completely free from any sanctioning body and/or USADA. Let's not act like OneFC gives a shit about drug testing any of their fighters. DJ's opponent looked like he was a legit weight class bigger than him.

Eddie and Okami I can understand. One has his chin gone, and the other is way over the hill. But Yuya Whatever against DJ tells me all I need to know and its basically Japan/Pride levels of who cares about PEDs.

To be honest it's worth thinking about. DJ is 32 which is often past prime for the fighters in light divisions. Kid Yamamoto was done by 30 and DJ's got quite a bit more fights then he had.

Fuck no. One FC guys don´t cut weight.

MM and Sage are very muscular guys and that got them advantage before because they used to cut A LOT of water weight.

MM was heavier than Cejudo fight night.. despite looking smaller.

Sage had to leave 155lbs because he couldnt make the cut anymore.
 
The UFC is a joke and lie. Strikeforce dominated them FFS. MM is the best fighter ever produced by the UFC and he struggled.

I think your just confusing uneducated fans with fans of MMA that can put things in perspective.

Sure One has some solid fighters people would be just hating if they thought otherwise. But the top fighters you can question how good are they really if pitted against the top 10's of the divisions each time out.

It's like Timofey beating Eddie. Do any of us on here really think he is a better fighter than Eddie?? Sure he got the better of him that night. But Timofey is not going to be holding a title in the UFC ever. In fact if he was in the UFC I'm not sure he'd even reach anything better than about 8 or so in the rankings at best from what I've seen from him. Solid fighter deserves his props but his career will never be considered better than Eddie's unless he just goes off for the next 8 years or so and he will earn that respect then.

Dude thats exactly what Im saying ? They struggled a bit due to them fighting bigger guys than they usually have fought in the UFC.

Cejudo is clearly a bigger and stronger guy than MM. Also MM really only came one pound over Cejudo when they rehydrated. Sage though , was struggling to get to 155 so the next class made sense but Cosmo was a big 185er in that fight of theirs and it showed.

What top fighters? Was Eddie Alvarez not a top fighter in UFC? He was a champion. He knocked out Justin Gaethje and was winning the fight against Poirier until the illegal elbow. Those were his last 2 fights. Both fights were back and forth wars. Poirier is now interim champ and Justin is top 5.

Alvarez got killed in 1 round like he was nothing. There is no way to look at it other than UFC implied superior fighters being a lie.

UFC does have the top fighters in the sport. Just look at Bellator as an example. Rory Mcdonald never was going to be a champion and now he is a champion at a different organization. The same can be said about Gerard Mousasi.

Eddie Alvarez had an unlucky night and he is an outlier.

But Rory McDonald arguably lost to Jon Fitch (who got cut 10 years ago because he was boring, not for being bad) and people claim he got a gift against Lima and say he would lose the rematch that is coming. Also Rory was never going to be a champion? He beat Tyron who became the champ later, that's a fact. You are just bias here.

Everyone criticized Mousasi for barely escaping with a decision on his fight with Schlemnko but then the russian got knocked in M-1 in 1 round. Something Mousasi couldn't do. And neither Whittaker or Adesanya have beaten Mousasi and he would probably be a favorite against both of them. He left because the pay was bad.

Eddie Alvarez is not the only one who has failed. Talk about how Bendo is doing on Bellator too if you are going to mention that organization. UFC having the top fighters is a lie they sell you and you are buying it
