Mick Foley is overrated. Feed me your hate.

I'm going to meet him at a convention in about six weeks, I'll make him aware of how you feel. <45>

You're right. His matwrestling sucked horribly. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't know the difference between an armbar and a hammerlock.

Considering he stated in his own book , how a wrestlers guillotine, while standing, would allow him to torture Shane kayfabe and allow Shane to speak means you're wrong.

He was a surprisingly horrible wrestler considering he apparently knew his shit.

I'm can't for the life of me picture this. When did this happen?

I think Foley is great, but there is definitely a case for overrated.

I think Flair called him "a glorified stuntman"
Hogan said something like "I don't need to prostitute my body to get over"

And then you have Shane McMahon,a non wrestler who outdid a lot of Foley's best bumps.
Shane landed on a crash mat ....he didn’t out do shit

idk how he is overrated he played like 3 gimmicks at once and was successful, also has praise from the wwf goats

Met him in Raleigh in 2018. Really nice guy. Nicer than advertised. He actually paused his photo ops for a second to go greet Kane. It was pretty cool. He had Socko and the Attitude Era belt with him.

I just don't see what's so great about him

Idk how old you are but did you watch during the Attitude Era? Maybe it's hard to see how great he was if you weren't watching it in real time on Raw every week. Also, if you read the books he wrote it's hard not to have a huge appreciation for him.

He was basically the ultimate original Indy wrestler. From his early work in the territories, to WCW, to WCW and then to WWF/E he went from organization to organization always cutting great promos with engaging characters, was a very solid in ring worker and was responsible for several of the most memorable moments in pro wrestling history. I don't know what's not to love about him but maybe some of it is a "you had to be there" type thing.

I saw Kevin Nash comment on Foley's KOTR cage dive recently, saying a piece of the business died because when Foley flew off the cage, it turned a work into a stunt. I couldn't help but agree with Nash a bit there.

Even though Mick was obviously supremely talented in the ring and on the mic, in hindsight I wonder how detrimental that famous bump was to the business, giving people the idea that there was room in the business for guys who just took ridiculous bumps.

I don't think it was detrimental to the business at all. Now it definitely wasn't the pinnacle, the defining moment, like some idiots claim it was, but it wasn't detrimental either. There still isn't any room in the business for guys with no guys at all other than the willingness to take ridiculous bumps. CZW has always been very fringe. The biggest gave ever got was an AEW TV main event, Mondo never even got to that height.
I wonder if Nash would say the same thing about Jimmy Snuka jumping off the cage. Probably not because the only reason he said that is because he probably doesn't like Foley personally.
