Michael Madsen Dead At 67

Celebrities always seem to die in small groups. Jim Shooter, Editor in Chief of Marvel Comics who was responsible for Secret Wars(1984)died on Monday. :(

I would say Budd in Kill Bill Vol. 2 is his best. Probably my favorite of the list in both films. Most relatable. Which says a lot because the Japan stuff is epic. Also I like how with all the ninja armies the Bride cut through. His character subdued her by just being ready with his shotgun.

Yeah I loved that character. He was a walking contradiction. Super scummy but he also has a conscience, because he obviously didn't want to kill people anymore or else he wouldn't be working such a shitty job.

I also think it's Madsen's best performance. Because for once he's not just the cool badass, but he's also the guy having his dignity taken away by slugs that he could kill with his little finger, but he chooses to take the abuse instead. He's one of the more complex characters in that movie.

I can still remember the first time I saw this scene, thinking to myself, "holy shit, he's gonna burn him". That scene also got me to deep dive into Gerry Rafferty, who was ironically a bit of a tortured soul like Madsen. R.I.P. to a unique actor that will always be a part of a fantastic era of my life.
 
Should have been cast in Pulp Fiction
 
Even Madsens straight to 1$ bin movies weren’t bad. He always played a convincing bad guy.

Reservoir Dogs is my favourite film of all time, partly due to this guy

I know he hit a woman who was a headcase, who madsen claim caused one of his kids to commit suidice. I take the Sean Connery stance on that one.

But who knows what story is right from coke fueled hollywood.

This one isn't surprising, sadly. He was really going off the rails last I heard and looked terrible. For some reason he had no eyebrows either.

Hate to say it but there are some guys who die and you are like "oh no, he was so young..."

And others where you are like " yeah... that checks out."

Fuckin A man. He made his mark on this world and seemed like he had a good old time doing it.

Damn, I always thought a movie no matter if it was already a dud or success was brought up a bit more so because it had Michael Madsen in it.
