Michael Madsen, the rough-and-tumble actor best known for his work in the Quentin Tarantino films Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & 2, The Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, died Thursday morning. He was 67.

Madsen was found unresponsive by deputies responding to a 911 call at his Malibu home and pronounced dead at 8:25 a.m., a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.

Madsen’s big screen body of work included WarGames (1983), The Natural (1984), The Doors (1991), Thelma & Louise (1991), Free Willy (1993), Species (1995), Donnie Brasco (1997), Die Another Day (2002), Sin City (2005) and Scary Movie 4 (2006).

He has 346 acting credits in IMDb in a career that began in the 1980s.

That’s what he gets for trying to kill a pregnant woman!

RIP..

Man, he was such a... Power on the screen, his presence just made you feel that something was about to go down.

R.I.P.

Damn....wasnt expecting this...

I had assumed that he had died several times in the past but was always pleasantly surprised that he was still on this earthy plane.

RIP.

I feel like this came out of nowhere, very bummed to see this. Dude had a hell of a career, and obviously his work with Tarantino is legendary.
RIP to him.

RIP

Only few actors exuded coolness as well as Madsen. Even when he played unhinged
murderous characters like in Reservoir Dogs.

I would say Budd in Kill Bill Vol. 2 is his best. Probably my favorite of the list in both films. Most relatable. Which says a lot because the Japan stuff is epic. Also I like how with all the ninja armies the Bride cut through. His character subdued her by just being ready with his shotgun.

He also has several video games VO roles he clearly didn't care about while he was recording them.
He was reading his lines like he was reading a phone book aloud.

R.I.P.
Decent actor when he was actually onscreen.
