Media Michael Jai White claims Coleman vs Maurice Smith proved that strikers beat jiujitsu when evenly matched

Coleman came into the fight way overconfident, didnt think a striker could beat him. Didn't worry about cardio because he thought he was still 20.

Headbutts apparently were still legal in UFC 14 though, banned one event later according to Wikipedia. I knew it was some time around then.

MJW seems to miss the fact Coleman was a wrestler.. but it does raise the question... why wasn't Colemans cross training in BJJ enough to submit a kickboxer who crossed over?

It looks to me watching the fight that Coleman didn't even make progress on the ground.

Unless he's getting in the cage to prove his bullshit I don't wanna hear it.

I remember recently watching The Toxic Avenger 2 and randomly found out that was his acting debut.

No testing in the UFC at all at the point Coleman left I believe so he could have been on as many PEDs then.

He actually dropped muscle mass when he went to Pride to my eye, he was what around 235lbs in Pride? in the mid 90's my guess would be he was closer to 250lbs.
When he got blasted by Pete Williams he was easily 250 sir.
