lol, noob city. Who is the mystery JJ fighter?Turns out, your expectations of Mark Coleman and Maurice Smith aren't based on reality. Maybe you could reassess them, learning more about them.

It's worth noting that Frank Shamrock (Maurice's training partner) used the "let them exhaust themselves" or maybe "MMA Rope-a-Dope" against Tito around the same time. That's another one of the best and most important fights of the 90s. After that, Tito worked a lot on his conditioning.Turns out, your expectations of Mark Coleman and Maurice Smith aren't based on reality. Maybe you could reassess them, learning more about them.
Frank vs Tito will always be one of my favourite fights. Tito lost, but he literally gave it his all. It's worth noting that Frank Shamrock (Maurice's training partner) used the "let them exhaust themselves" or maybe "MMA Rope-a-Dope" against Tito around the same time. He should finish him off long before that is a factor.. A wrestler who knows some jiujitsu is a handfull for jiujitsu guys and this wasn't even a jiujitsu guy.

I have seen a ton. What is with these snobs who are quick to call someone an outsider the moment an opinion detracts from their own view? This is the most white belt opinion ever and I can only assume that you haven't seen much, if any, of MMA at all
But why did his G&P fail?
There was no stand-up rule, so it was very old rules. And Maurice still survivedWere headbutts illegal by then? It was some time around then that the UFC disallowed them
Oh god, are you the guy who wondered why Whitaker would use a wider, lower stance against someone trying to take him down?I have seen a ton. What is with these snobs who are quick to call someone an outsider the moment an opinion detracts from their own view?
Maybe I know more than you guys when I say Whitaker had a shitty stance to defend against Khamzat ,, maybe its not knowing less.....it's knowing more. You can't have his stiff stance with zero mobility against a wrestler like Khamzat.
and at "it wasn't on Joe Rogan so I had no way of knowing about it"I did not watch Sage Northcutt fighting for whatever reason. Maybe he wasn't promoted that much. He flew right by the radar for me on social media. He wasnt mentioned in any Rogan short clip either, so I guess Joe wasn't a fan.

Well, I'm not going to rehash that other thread that shit all over your knowledge when this thread is shitting all over your knowledge, but it's been known since the earliest days of MMA that stuffing and sprawling on a wrestler is easier with a lower stance.Yes I am that guy. I know what it takes to stuff a beast wrestler, and standing in a karate stance is not that. NO wrestler starts a wrestling match in a Karate stance. And yes, you have to stand in the most perfect stance possible if you are lagging behind in wrestling abilities to the other guy
Rogan is a moron but he doesn't have any rivals. All mma discussions tend to come from his fucking podcast which is annoying. i don't count his retard comic friends and those clips aren't even recommended by Youtube. Even the algorithm is repulsed by them
Yeah, I wondered about headbutts, not the standup rule. Headbutts were Coleman's only G&P weapon early onThere was no stand-up rule, so it was very old rules. And Maurice still survived
For fuck sake, nowhere did I imply that he should stand erect. It's like arguing with a chick. No fucking nuance to the debate.,Well, I'm not going to rehash that other thread that shit all over your knowledge when this thread is shitting all over your knowledge, but it's been known since the earliest days of MMA that stuffing and sprawling on a wrestler is easier with a lower stance.
I was just mentioning it as a possible clue.Yeah, I wondered about headbutts, not the standup rule. Headbutts were Coleman's only G&P weapon early on
lol fuck off with your dumb shit. Not only did I not say you said he should stand erect, but I remember you had a complete inability to read the words that I was actually writing in that other thread, and here you are, mewling about nunace. For fuck sake, nowhere did I imply that he should stand erect. "He's too wide"..
"oh so he should stand narrow?????
Ff sake
Again. It should be over before cardio plays a part. Maurice had been subbed many times. Including by bas ruttenAll that happened was Smith learnt to defend off his back clearly, Coleman gassed and Smith took the fight over. Smith was a true pioneer I reckon for a kickboxer transitioning to MMA
