Sambo is actually a judo and wrestling combo. So I would say he's half right and half wrong in this one.

That's like him saying wrestling is more efficient than MMA (of course, not counting wrestling-adverse guys in MMA ).

Chandler is a pretty likeable, level-headed guy when it comes to mma. Glad he finally made the move to the UFCs LW division.

If it's wrestling that Chandler favors, he's got nothing on guys like Islam who are superior grapplers. People forget that Islam and Khabib are more than just sambo guys. They both have legit freestyle skills and train with Olympic champions.

Islam in particular is said to be a better pure wrestler than Khabib. He has the highest TDD of all LWs notwithstanding the rare takedown Moises got.

I think Americans either are ignorant of or cannot fathom that people in other parts of the world are better than them at certain things. It's a fact that Dagestan is the #1 place in the world for wrestling. Khabib's village of 2000 has produced 7 world champions.

Chandler, like Gaethje before he fought Khabib, is a little too high on folkstyle wrestling. He's going to get a rude awakening when he fights someone that not only can wrestle at a high level, but seamlessly combines it with judo, Greco, submissions, etc. and can chain wrestle him in a way no one ever has.

Chandler got outwrestled by will brooks twice and taken down in open space by Oliveira and couldn't counter it so he jumped guillotine By his own admittance

I think Chandler is going to sleep and his wrestling is overrated.

Chandler is another (outside of UFC) fraud, who will be exposed soon enough. Ill Will Brooks has already written the blueprint on how to beat him. Chandler caught lightning in a bottle vs. Hooker... and subsequently landed a title shot (luckily for him), where Oliviera put him in his proper place. If his next opponent fights with smarts (avoids his big right hand), its a relatively easy win in the upper LW division.

No if anyone have seen my threads ever since he's signed to the UFC I thought he was arrogant and fake way before I knew Thomson didn't like him.

I tried to give him a chance. But eh, fake. He pimped his kid for a black history photo op. People won't agree with what I'm saying but it is what it is. Doesn't mean he doesn't love the kid but he did what he did. That's just one example.

I feel like sambo is just way more diverse in it's techniques and has an intrinsic "flow" too it. Makhachev really demonstrates this in his fights even more so than khabib.

This, Sambo is way more integrated with MMA to begin with so a very high level guy etc Khabib will be light years ahead in the grappling, because MMA wrestling is way more simplistic but sambo does that simplicity better

I haven’t felt a hint of that, though to be fair, I have only heard him speak like 4 times. I liked how he came across in the post-fight presser after losing to Olli though.

The one thing that I don’t like is his support for uber-grifter Trump, but like I said: I like how he carries himself in the mma sphere. I feel that a lot of Trumpers are ok people who are being victimized. I can’t hate them unless they actually say, do vile shit.
