Media Michael Bisping has a message to Sherdog's recent article about him

Bisping is easily the worst commentator for any major MMA promotion. Part of it may not be his fault. He is blind in one eye and has had problems with the other, so in many instances, it’s possible he simply isn't seeing what is occurring inside the cage, and thus gets his description wrong. But part of it is his own incompetence. He is immensely lazy, ignoring what is actually going on in the fights in favor of simplistic, often false narratives to which he clings like a paddle in a ship-wreck.

Daniel Cormier, who was five times better than Bisping as a fighter and is 10 times better as a commentator, said a great phrase about his friend and stablemate Winn in the midst of the Brit's derision: “Deron Winn is fighting for his LIFE.” At first, this may seem like hyperbole, but on further reflection, it's true

I read the article. Pisarsky is right about Bisping's commentary skills not being great, but he also doesn't seem to understand why Bisping is there. Bisping is a dick, and he can be very critical of fighters at times, BUT he is very entertaining in doing so. That's why people like him. The UFC aren't having him do commentary because he has this incredible analytical mind, and he deftly explain the nuances of the fighters' technique. Bisping is at his best when he's being an asshole, and considering all of the highs and lows of his career, he has authority to call it as he sees it.

Also, the thing Lev says about Bisping not understanding what it's like to fight for his life is pretty Beta. Bisping has literally given his two knees and one eye to this sport. He can say whatever he wants about a fighter.

I don't think Bisping he a bad commentator perse, but he, like DC gets EXTREMELY BIASED if he supports a guy he likes (Max vs Volk). It's a bad habit from a lot of guys in commentary.

Sherdog writers are a bit sad tbh, they piss people off, lose real connections and that's why sherdog has never broken a major story in the sport ever. They either release an "opinion piece" that almost 100% is trashing someone, who they release a short, 5 sentence summary of a video they rip from somewhere else. At this point they are not a news organization they are a collective of bloggers who would be more at place on a twitter feed than trying to pretend to be a legitimate journalist. They don't want to write articles analyzing the sport, they want to write articles about hot drama that will get clicks.
 
I thought the same thing, Mikey. It was a shitty fucking article and made me think I was listening to a CNN segment about Donald Trump. Was some high school level shitty opinion journalism at its finest.

There is some seed of truth to it; Bisping is not that good of a commentator and he should try to be above Twitter spats with active fighters. Look how Rogan approaches it, when Rampage got mad at him for his commentating he approached Rampage in person and tried to smooth things over.

That said its a ridiculous article, way more barbed than necessary as well as including a low blow directed at Bisping's eye problems. Definitely a sad example of the state of MMA journalism, heck if that's the standard for MMA journalism maybe I should try and start writing articles for them.

Brian Stann was by far the best one. He had the best balance of professionalism, passion for the sport, and technical knowledge. A lot of fighters have a decent balance of the second two but not very much of the first.

That said even though Bisping isn't good as a commentator I can't help but feel happy for the guy given the health issues he's gone through that he now gets paid to watch the fights from the front row seat. Plus I like the reaction he gets from some of the fighters when he interviews them. Young fighters look up to him and seem as if they just met Santa and the older guys who fought around the same time as him feel like they're comrades. He seems to get better interviews from them just because the fighters seem more eager to talk to him which is cool. I also like his cheeky references to his own career like when he once said something about knowing how it feels to get one arm guillotined.
 
Can't say I blame Bisping.. The article about him was clearly written by a Sherdog forum troll.

Dude clearly being very overdramatic about little things. Clearly has a thing against Bisping. Bisping is also not the worst commentator they have. Cruz was clearly the worst but one of his last events, he seemed significantly better.

Did the author miss Bisping's entire career? That's how he rolls.

Also, dude's been KOd enough times (you could somewhat count the 1st Rockhold fight since he dropped him hard; and the Silva fight <that flying knee was dirty>) by PED cheaters (or in Hendo's case a guy on TRT) enough times to rattle his sufficiently brain and get a pass on some possible "bad behavior."

Either way, good on Bisping for going back and forth with Winn. It might make people actually care one way or another about this guy.

Bisping isn't wrong.

It's pretty shameful that Sherdog would even publish an article like that. It looks like it was written by some incel (named Lev Pisarsky) who's mad at a guy for stealing his girlcrush.

The trash articles and garbage opinion pieces Sherdog publishes are the reason this site is considered the choda of the MMA community.
