Just want your opinions on how MGS V stacks up against GRW.

It’s on sale for 5 bucks on PSN (the definitive edition). I know it’s supposed to be one of the best games ever but I don’t care much about the story. What I want to know if the gameplay and graphics hold up 5 years later and is it similar to GRW now ?
I have GRW but I haven’t gotten to playing it yet past 2 hours. I like it but I don’t think I want another game just like it.

What say u, Sherdog ?

Also, is this game one of those mythical 60fps games on the PS4 slim ?

EDIT : Just bought. Couldn’t say no at 5$.

Hmm. Never played a MGS game. 5 bucks is a steal. And right now im playing ghost recon breakpoint.

Maybe I'll get this

MGS5 is awesome just don't expect a killer story. But it ticks the same boxes as Wildlands in terms of making you feel like a badass operator in some hostile wilderness (Except obv with MGS the playstyle is very different). I love them both, they're top class military pron. In fact I'm in the middle of 100%'ing MGS5 a second time and will prob have sunk 400 hours into it after I'm done

MGS5 was a huge disappointment for me. Story was not good at all. The gameplay loop is good, though repetitive.

I’ve never played Ghost Recon.

Metal Gear Solid V is the best Metal Gear game and my favorite stealth game period. Ghost Recon Wildlands is like fast food. It's kind of pleasurable but it's not really quality.

sneaky sneaky, not runny gunny.

It should be noted that in MGSV you can do both, which is the best aspect of the game. Stealth is obviously preferred, but it's still so damn robust in how you can approach any given mission with it's bazillion weapons and gadgets.

That said, if you're not the experimental type, MGSV will get incredibly repetitive very quickly. You really have to make your own fun in that game. If not, you'll just be sneaking around and sniping enemies for 40-50 hours.

fair. I was probably a little too gun-ho in the beginning and kept getting my ass kicked. Once I tried to be stealthier it got easier. You also can’t send corpses to man your military base, so killing everyone doesn’t work there either

I think Wildlands is highly underrated if you turn off all the hud and wallhack crap. The AI still isn't great. Then again, the AI in MGSV is much worse.

I would still say 5 bucks is a steal, especially if the definitive version comes with ground zeroes. MGSV, for as bad a dissapointment it was for me, is still fantastic, and offers a lot of unique ways to tackle problems with. Just don't expect an open world. It's a large sandbox to fuck with Russian guys in, nothing more.

That’s what I think. And for all those bleating about discs and resale deals, PSN is pretty generous and frequent with its sales.
So many 5 dollar games, I even got Far Cy 3 for 2 bucks.

Maybe discs might work out cheaper n selling n shit but I think fk it, I’m not a goods trader.
I’d rather buy em n keep em forever. Neatly in a few HDD.

Personally I like the convenience.

And I just bought it btw.
