I saw that video, the padding on those JC looked much thicker, maybe JC changed their materials.

I asked Pacheco about the material he use, and he said he uses the same material since 7 years ago, about the thickness of the pad I must tell You than it is the same.

Well I will say that my gloves are not as round as the ones in the video; if they are the same, that could be why Canelo wasn't holding back on those guys.

he was clearly holding back on them

I didn't think any of them went too hard

You should see his other sparring videos; it looked like he was trying to knock out the last guy.

Canelo had Winnings if I recall

yellow ones with yellow FG-5000 on as well with "Canelo" screen printed on them

edit: finding video..

Can't remember how to embed on sherdog.

Both of his sparring partners there had JCs and he had Winnings (red, memory aint what it used to be)

Excellent, thanks for the vid (I embeded it for you). I remember seeing that one a while ago.

Loving the look of the JC's. Canelo is a beast as usual.

For anyone that doesn't know to embed a video. Quote this reply post and have a look or check this thread:

So, given that the JCs are stiff, what seems to be the consensus on good Mexican sparring gloves? Zepol? Boxeo? Campeon?

Or Reyes (IMO) exclusively?

From what I read Zepol. I have a pair of Cletos and they aren't as bad as everyone says they are for sparring.

Yep...I had a pair of Reyes and I liked them for sparring except for the thumb positioning. I mostly do controlled sparring however.

Most people here bought either JC's or Zepol for the custom work. I know a few people bought Seyer and one guy recently bought Boxeo. I just checked page 9 and apparently Boxeo does custom orders (I might give it a shot). Haven't heard anything about sparring from them though so Zepol's take the prize so far...

On another topic, did anyone here buy headgear besides me? (Still waiting for mine in the mail.)

Hey Technoir, I looked on page 9 and realized Boxeo makes custom orders. Could you post some pics of them?

I've used 16 oz Reyes for sparring exclusively for several years and they were excellent. Granted, sparring is sparring and I wasn't throwing bombs the whole time, and I also fought at 132, so take those factors into consideration.

What are the color options for Zepol, I need 18oz sparring gloves and checking all my options on afforability at the moment.
