Met Might Mouse yesterday (PIC).

Doing one thing a lot of the time doesn't improve muscle growth. It just teaches the muscle to get used to it. Do a whole bunch of different upperbody exercises and you'll see dramatic difference (for better)

Are you implying muscle confusion?

this is true. And I do do variations from time to time. But muscle growth isn't my primary goal, I have no interest in bodybuilding. More into powerlifting and functional strength while maximizing power. So actually I vary between 5x5 routines and 5,3,1 and variations.

I would much rather be like the olympic sprinter who can do fairly massive squats and deadlifts while being relatively thin than an out of proportion bodybuilder (no offense to the bodybuilders of the world). I just end up doing the dip/decline press routine a bit more frequently than the deadlifts as they don't tax the system as hard as deadlifts...

Congrats on doing weighted dips. It is one of my favorite movements and I never see people do them.

I get what your saying. I am a performance coach by trade and it is nice to see someone who is into functional strength versus just getting a big upper-body so they can wear tight shirts to the club.

Just food for thought, for the last year I have been experimenting with some minimalist training (less is more), for sake of my nervous system because from years of doing those movements you mentioned, I built up a lot of neural-fatigue (I am a USAW coach so I used to Squat, Deadlift, Press, Clean, constantly) and got to the point where I was less happy doing those movements and more prone to injury. I still do many of those movements, I just take a very different approach.

Since i've been focusing on a minimalist approach for about a year, I am now about twice as strong as I have ever been and my strength feels much more functional than it has in the past. There are some cool sites that give you a little background into it if you are interested I can pass along.

I want more pics of sherdoggers towering over UFC champs. It's funny.

Speaking of ball busting, South of the Mississippi is a big body of water...where no one except sea creatures live. That is unless you're talking about another continent. The actual expression is West of the Mississippi...

Thanks Magellan!!

The kid was Brazilian doe, so my parlance stands.

Ya so out of curiosity...is your first name Buck ts?

Need to work on those forearms.

Tomorrows News: TS found dead in the early hours of the morning. Some reports claim that the TS was bullied on an internet forum. Allegedly, this forum dubbed Sherdog contains a collective of insecure middle aged men and some teenagers. The harassment TS faced was likely to have caused an imbalance of chemicals in the brain and TS having taken such a huge risk to show himself to the community to cure his insecurities must have caused a relapse in positive thinking when his plan backfired. At the moment, the autopsy reports show that TS had big biceps so must have worked out. Also. TS must have been quite poor because he relied on chewing whole nuts with the front two teeth to intake protein. At the moment all of this is speculation and me being the Jews anchor, I would totally bang the TS and marry him and everyone on that Sherdog site must be ugly motherfuckers. Here's John with the weather...

Blahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahhaahahahahahaha

Not exactly, I don't think you can "confuse" muscles. For example, I'm on a 15 week program where I attack each muscle group on different days. Then when that 15 week program is done, I do a different regimen to attack the same groups. You know what I mean? I think it's better to do that than doing the same exercise without changing. Maybe it is broscience, I don't know.

Nah I got you. I use some of that variety to a degree as well.

Does TS have a name yet?

BeaverTS?

Or maybe just Bucky.

Awesome TS thanks for sharing. Don't mind the shoops and wise cracks, that's how sherdog shows their appreciation. Cheers!
