Bro yall white boys are really beta males letting one black man put yall in yall feelings like that
No, the main objective of ANY profession = is to MAKE MONEY.
I don't think Merab was ever actually ducking. His reasoning for saying Umar doesn't deserve a title fight was really quite logical. And in any case, he ended up accepting the fight which only cements that he wasn't ducking.
Merab was shot up the division with a single ranked win like O'Malley was. Except even Sean had 2 I think.
He went from fighting bums and UFC debutants, to fighting Sandhagen who had earned a title shot 2 times over but the UFC kept forcing the Umar fight on him until.he caved and took it. Then Sandhagen shit the bed in that fight.
Whether thats because nobody would take fights with Umar or not, it doesn't change that his list of wins is unimpressive.
Compared to Figgy pre Petr Yan, or Yan himself now, Umar's resume against top competition is lacking.
Now contrast that with Jones saying Aspinall is a nobody that's done nothing.
Aspinall- 5 top 10 wins, 3 top 5 wins. Finished all of them in the 1st round. Finished all of them in 9 minutes combined. Most knockdowns per 15 minutes in UFC history. Shortest average fight time in UFc history. Is the current interim HW champion.
The UFC saw the numbers they did for Sean/Merab and said let's get a Nurmagomedov in there ASAP.Nope, the only reason is Merab doesn't have the same power
Eventually accepting the fight doesn't negate the fact that he was avoiding it initially. His reasoning didn't make any sense as the next guy in line just got beat by Umar , there was no other contender on the line.I don't think Merab was ever actually ducking. Yan rematching Merab makes way more sense but okayEventually accepting the fight doesn't negate the fact that he was avoiding it initially. His reasoning didn't make any sense as the next guy in line just got beat by Umar , there was no other contender on the line.

Agreed. No he was never ducking. He was criticizing Umar push. Big difference. (See Jon Jones).I don't think Merab was ever actually ducking. Umar fought a dude without a Wikipedia this year. And got knocked down lol. Merab was always right say this push for a title shot is ridiculous.Agreed. No he was never ducking. He was criticizing Umar push. Big difference. (See Jon Jones).
Yan was dominated in the fight with Merab in a snoozefest, a rematch makes sense based on what ?Yan rematching Merab makes way more sense but okay
Why the bitch tweeting so much then?Or maybe Jones = Man because he doesn’t give a fuck about what the nay-sayers and haters have to say about him…
That was 2 years ago by Jan 2025 when Merab's fighting Umar and Yan has since dominated Fig and Sodong.Yan was dominated in the fight with Merab in a snoozefest, a rematch makes sense based on what ?
TS didn't exactly think through how brave it is for Merab to fight whatever contender in his 2nd title fight compared to Jon...No one would of been saying this when Jones first won the LHW title, it's pretty stupid to compare how he treats fights after he cleared the LHW division when it was the most stacked of all time.
Thanks. I did indeed mean Umar. You mean Umar was shot up the division, not merab.
Agreed with everything though. Also, I think Merab was also trying to get the added benefit of stirring the pot and making people even more for this fight in case it does ever happen.
Let a new contender fight for the belt , no need to make that boring fight again. That was 2 years ago by Jan 2025 when Merab's fighting Umar and Yan has since dominated Fig and Sodong.
Jones fought Shogun, Rampage. Machida, Evans in a row after getting the LHW title. By ranking it was the murderer's row. It was #1 guy after the other, finished everyone but Rashad. LHW division at the time was the most stacked in history. Jones never ducked anyone until the twilight of his career in a higher weight class, we still don't know if Jones/Aspinall happens next. That was 2 years ago by Jan 2025 when Merab's fighting Umar and Yan has since dominated Fig and Sodong.
He has a much better claim to a title shot, especially as the former champ, than Umar. It's Umar who should've been being asked to fight another contender, not like Yan is now being if he's not getting one.
Let alone how ridiculous it is to see Umar is ranked #2 over Yan right now. That's patently absurd. The only guy Umar's ever beaten is Sandhagen and Yan's also beaten him.

Uh deciding between the HW interim title holder or the LHW undisputed title holder for his 18th title fight in a row?
Wait, what?
