I may be mistaken but have any Shia muslims committed terrorist attacks in the west? I can't think of any from the top of my head. Not really saying that makes them nice people but also not high on the scale of things to worry about

I can't recall any either tbh. Shia Muslims aren't a high threat like you said. Still, al-Qaeda (sunnis) operatives, the guys who claimed to be responsible for 9/11, have been in Iran. Their 2nd-highest ranked guy, Abu Muhammad al-Masri, got killed recently in Iran also
