Supersessionism, also called fulfillment theology by its proponents, is the Christian doctrine that the Christian Church has superseded the Jewish people, assuming their role as God's covenanted people, thus asserting that the New Covenant through Jesus Christ has superseded or replaced the Mosaic covenant. Supersessionists hold that the universal Church has become God's "true Israel" and thus Christians are the People of God.

Often claimed to have originated with Paul the Apostle in the New Testament, supersessionism has formed a core tenet of Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches for the majority of their history. Many early Church Fathers—including Justin Martyr and Augustine of Hippo—were supersessionist. The theology that religious Jews dissent by continuing to exist outside the Church is extensive in Catholic liturgy and literature. The Second Vatican Council (1962–1965) marked a shift in emphasis of official Catholic teaching about Judaism, a shift which may be described as a move from "hard" to "soft" supersessionism.

Rabbinic Judaism rejects supersessionism as offensive to Jewish history. Islam teaches that it is the final and most authentic expression of Abrahamic monotheism, superseding both Judaism and Christianity. The Islamic teaching of tahrif teaches that earlier monotheistic scriptures or earlier interpretations of them have been corrupted by later interpretations of them, while the Quran presents a pure and unaltered version of their divine message.

You're correct, anyhow. Christianity is a gentile religion with a Jewish founder who was rejected as messiah and crucified at the behest of Jews. All 27 books of the New Testament were written in Koine Greek, not Aramaic or Hebrew (including the epistle to the Hebrews, lol). Half of them are attributed to Paul, who made it his life's work to become an instrument of Christ as an apostle to the gentiles. The canonical Gospel of Luke (along with Acts) alone comprise almost 30% of the NT text, and were written by a non-Jewish companion and colleague of Paul.

Evangelical Protestantism is where political and religious identities became welded together in America; it is the principle source of Christian fascism and fundamentalism. Any time people hear or see some wacko hate preacher talking fire and brimstone in sermons, that's where it's coming from. It's a cancerous scourge on the country and extremely detrimental to the faith at large. The fawning adoration of contemporary Jews and undying loyalty to modern state of Israel is also really fucking weird at best. And this from the same group who believes the intercession of saints and veneration of images is wrong. The latter is responsible for a lot of the greatest artwork in the history of the western canon.
