Judeo-Christian? Wtf does that mean?

Doesn't seem like a single founding father was Jewish.

This country was founded on Christian values.

"Judeo-Christian" refers to the beliefs the two religions have in common. So, for example, the line in the Declaration of Independence about men being created equal and being endowed with rights by their Creator would refer to a "Judeo-Christian" God, since both religions roughly agree on what that means.

What makes something fundamentally Christian is the belief that Jesus is God and that eternal salvation comes only through him. And that concept doesn't really show up in any of America's founding documents, at least as far as I'm aware.

But the Jewish religion says men are not created equal only the direct descendants of Abraham are the chosen people.

There's very little in common between the religions in application.

And that's why no one says America is founded on "Judeo" values. Judeo-Christian refers to the areas where the religions are alike, not where they're different.

I'll admit the term isn't all that useful; after all, if all you mean is that there's a god, you might as well call them "Islamo-Christian values." But these days people tend to use it, not to be informative, but to jab at both religions, so you're going to hear it a lot.
